The Role

As we continue to grow as one QuidelOrtho we are seeking a Shift Maintenance Supervisor. The Shift Maintenance Supervisor provides managing and direct oversight of the Finishing Shift Maintenance staff, setting demand maintenance processes that support reliability, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness in the Finishing Work Center. Establishes and manage work schedules, work assignments, training, personnel development, performance reviews, and coaching. Drive creation, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance plans to meet systems demands and business objectives. Provides input to departmental budget, enforcing policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

Schedule: C Shift: Monday - Friday; however, may require extended hours or weekend work to support the 24/7 operations.

The Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in building and sustaining a high performing team focused on a continuous improvement, driven by establishing clear expectations measured by key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for developing the team skills and competencies.

  • Participating in continuous improvement activities, i.e. RCAs and follow up actions.

  • Collaborating with Cell Leads on implementing process improvements.

  • Provide Shift Maintenance direction and support during unscheduled equipment downtime, including escalations during off shifts.

  • Ensures compliance to operations and maintenance policies/procedures and audit readiness.

  • Monitoring and providing feedback to personnel on work documentation.

The Individual

Required:

  • Associate degree2 or 4 year Degree in technical discipline preferred of equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

  • Experience in GMP compliance and delivering requirements

  • 2 or more years of people leadership experience, 5 or more years maintenance experience in manufacturing production lines.

  • Required Travel: Less than 5%

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of QuidelOrtho products and maintenance systems.

  • Bachelors Degree in technical discipline.

Internal Partners: Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality and Environmental Health & Safety, Quality and Regulatory

External Partners: Suppliers and Service Providers

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment and include the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and be able to lift 10 - 15lbs. Regularly handle chemicals for use in final release testing of laboratory analyzers to customers. Flexibility in work schedule, along with off hours support and coverage as necessary. The use of PPE as required by work area. Maintains and ensures neat and orderly work areas. Up to 10% travel over (Domestic / International as needed). Could require up to 50% travel for short durations during commissioning of new equipment at suppliers.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $99,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
