Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring daily duties of on ground operational staff is accomplished through zone assignments, shift reporting, schedule adherence, and interdepartmental communication

  • Perform interdepartmental daily facility briefings which communicate facility issues/activities

  • Ability to implement crisis interventions, de-escalation and motivational interviewing methods to support client care/staff safety

  • Knowledge of quality incident reporting standards, early grievance intervention, and crisis protocol

Requirements:

Education

  • High School Diploma/ GED

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience working in the field of homelessness or other social support services

Abilities/Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication, set priorities, handle multiple tasks, problem solving, decision making, interpret data, detail oriented, accurate, analytical, organize, read/write, proficient in understanding and communication of the spoken and written English writing, meet established deadlines

Preferred Skills for this position

Responsibilities: * Oversee and ensure the safety of coworkers, participants, guests and property on the ground level daily. * Assure participants and other individuals are in compliance with facility policies with respect to weapons and other property. * Complete written reports and incident logs of daily activities and irregularities. * Identify and respond to all monitors and any issues that may come up within the shelter * Track all facility meetings and workshops as it relates to the client daily activities * Patrol, observe and report all activity to Program Manager on a daily basis. * Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, participants, and visitors to maintain security of property * May conduct searches or operate other detection devices in accordance with company policy. * Other duties as assigned Requirements: Education * High school diploma or GED Experience * Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of homelessness or other social support services as a monitor * Minimum of 1 year in a supervision/leadership role Knowledge * Strong knowledge of HIPAA, Programmatic standards of operation and clinical engagement, clinical documentation methods, client focused ideology * Strong knowledge of and ability to work with issues related to homelessness, aging in place, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and history of trauma Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication, set priorities, handle multiple tasks, problem solving, decision making, interpret data, detail oriented, accurate, analytical, organize, read/write; proficient in understanding and communication of the spoken and written English language, meet established deadlines * Deep understanding, ability to assess, and consult with team on participant acuity and appropriate levels of care through treatment team meetings. * Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills required to advocate on the part of the clients served in court. * Ability to coach and mentor staff * Demonstrated ability to manage and problem solve complex client cases Preferred Skills for this Position: * 1 year working as a Shelter Lead or related * 2 years working with targeted population Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
