Sheet Metal Journeyman

The Sheet Metal Journey man will assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution.

Job Responsibilities:

Install duct, accessories and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications.

Proper and safe use of hand tools and portable power tools.

May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications.

Must be able to take direction, be accepting to change and strive for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop.

Comprehension of SMACNA standards.

GED or High School Graduate Preferred.

Understand how to measure duct for fabrication, make field modifications and install duct by Shop Blueprints.

Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.

Perform a variety of duties which may change often.

Understand English follow and provide directives to assigned helpers.

Comply with all B&I safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.

Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
