The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) shared resources are core facilities that provide expertise and specialized services to support and enhance investigators' research, such as biospecimen cores, imaging cores, and drug discovery cores to name a few. The Shared Resources Coordinator will join the UWCCC and report directly to the Assistant Director of Laboratory Research and Shared Resources to support the administrative oversight of UWCCC shared resources and research laboratory operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment.

  • Proven organizational skills and ability to work on a variety of projects at one time.

  • Established ability in independent project management, including proficiency in MS Office, Planner, Project or similar software tools, and problem solving skills.

  • The Shared Resources Coordinator is expected to follow the policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards for excellence and professionalism established by the UWCCC and the University of Wisconsin. Business Need / Purpose of Role Due to a promotion we have an opening for a Shared Services Specalist. Reports to the Shared Services Manager, the Shared Services Specialist is responsible for the accounts receivable cash posting and related journal entries in a Shared Services environment. Responsible for Vendor and Customer Master maintenance. The role will primarily be based in Madison, WI Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities Objectives: * Cash posting and the reconciliation of cash accounts * Responsible for Vendor and Customer Master maintenanc * Prepare journal entries for various general accounting requirements. * Act as a business partner with various business functions. * Coordinate various transactions with outside financial institutions (banks, etc.) * Release of sales invoices * Scanning documents as needed * Back up VISA/MC Charge Card process for AR Customers. * Sales tax maintenance as needed * Process employee expense reports on a weekly basis * Back up the insurance liability paperwork process * Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. * Complete special projects as assigned. * Comply with all Finance Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs. * Regular and reliable attendance is key to performance of this job. * Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments. * Keep Shared Services Manager aware of pertinent issues and information warranting their knowledge, action and/or resolution. * Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety management and policy commitments as prescribed for this role in Weir's Duty of Care. * Nothing in this position description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. * Compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business equipment and software, including email.
