Shared Living Provider

LIFE is seeking aShared Living Provider for cognitively disabled adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. You must be located on Cape Cod, Massachusetts or the surrounding Southeast region. We provide services to individuals from Hyannis to Plymouth.

Are you loving and compassionate? Are you patient and kind? Do you have personal or work experience with developmental disabilities or mental health? If you answered yes, you could be a life mentor and teacher for an adult who needs a family and a forever home. You could be a Shared Living provider.

Shared Living is an arrangement available to qualified adults that is funded by The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and supported and managed by LIFE.

We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Shared Living Providers to oversee the support of a few of our wonderful individuals.

The Shared Living Provider lives with this individual.

In this crucial role you will:

• Help our participant to live a full and meaningful life.

• May live in their own home, or they may live in your home (must have an extra bedroom and bath) dependent on the circumstances of the DDS contract and the individuals situation.

• Assist in planning, food shopping, prep, and cooking with LIFE individual.

• Prepare paperwork for and attend appointments as needed.

• Transport individual to appointments, and activities.

• Continuously attend to medical needs with in home needs, doctors appointments, proper documentation, and if necessary, medication assistance.

• Ability to manage an email account and other basic computer entry programs.

• Maintain confidential files and complete documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• The right person will be honest, friendly, outgoing, reliable, dependable, flexible and kind.

• First Aid and CPR Certified. (LIFE will provide training.)

• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation (vehicle).

• COVID guidelines (PPE, etc.) followed as required and needed. (Mask in home not required in most circumstances.)

Requirements:

• Patience and kindness.

• Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or training background is excellent.

• Experience with the population LIFE works with is great (volunteer work counts!), but we will train the right candidate.

• Must be 18 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent), some college or technical coursework, or personal experience is ideal.

• Professionalism.
