equirements:
Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience
RVT license preferred
Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients
Strong verbal and written skills
Strong attention to detail and follow through
Ability to handle high stress situations
Knowledge of vital signs and when to alert a doctor regarding patient status.
Essential Job Duties:
Ability to perform veterinary technician duties. Including but not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic drug calculations, fluids and CRIs, radiology.
Obtain and run/process lab samples.
Monitoring and treatment of critical patients
Providing critical care and treatments to hospitalized pets
Understanding of isolation protocols
Monitoring anesthesia
Assisting veterinarians with exams, procedures and ultrasounds.
Knowledge of how to set up various emergency procedures (laceration repairs, unblocking, taps, etc.).
Restraint of both dogs and cats
Comfortable with IV/IM/SQ injections
Urine collection via cystocentesis (K9 and feline)
Stocking and cleaning
Willing to learn how to run CT
Veterinary experience required. Please do not apply if you have no experience as this position requires a lot of medical knowledge.
