Reporting to the Dean of the School of Film & Television, or the Dean's designate, and working closely with the Graduate Directors, this key position has primary responsibility for the direct recruitment of prospective students and oversight of the admissions process for all SFTV graduate programs. The SFTV Graduate Programs Recruiter will develop relationships with potential students and other stakeholders through phone outreach, in person outreach, travel, recruiting events and overall enrollment coordination. This position will work closely with the SFTV leadership team and the Graduate Admissions team to develop impactful recruitment strategies and implement new admission initiatives. They will also lead all the planning for on-campus and off-campus SFTV recruiting events and support the graduate Directors in running their individual programs.

Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and direction on SFTV graduate admissions initiatives, standards, and processes from recruitment through admissions and enrollment. Including, managing the timeline for the admission file processing, reviews, interviews, and admission decisions; overseeing the applicant file review process to ensure admission decisions are communicated in a competitive timeframe; aligning all admission processes with the larger LMU processes and identifying areas of improvement.

  • Assist with the development of recruitment and admission goals and strategies in collaboration with the SFTV leadership team and the AVP for Graduate Enrollment to attract a large, talented, and diverse applicant pool. Manage, analyze, and report on recruitment and admissions data beginning with prospects and leads through deposits and enrollments.

  • Serve as primary liaison in the recruitment and outreach of prospective SFTV graduate students. Maintain contact with them throughout the admission process through email, phone, text message, in-person, and virtual meetings.

  • Develop and manage prospect relationships to ensure that communication of program features and benefits are customized by prospect.

  • Consistently communicate the value of SFTV and LMU and how it can meet the needs of the prospects, applicants, and admitted students. Individually advise prospective graduate students on program selection, fit and admissibility

  • Represent SFTV graduate programs at college, corporate, and other recruiting programs, and events, including (but not limited to) organizing information sessions, open houses, class visits, workshops, and networking receptions.

  • Collaborate with the Dean and the Dean's designates to ensure we have strong and effective marketing materials both digital and print for all of SFTV's graduate programs. Collaborate with the Dean and the Graduate Directors to create and maintain the SFTV graduate webpages.

  • Collaborate with the SFTV graduate program directors, SFTV Graduate Advisor, graduate enrollment management staff and other university administrators to ensure the smooth transition of students from admission to matriculation, including participation in orientation.

  • Work with the Financial Aid and Student Financial Services Office to understand and explain financial aid and payment processes to applicants.

  • Work with the Dean and the Dean's designates regarding scholarships for prospective SFTV graduate students.

  • Perform data analysis of SFTV graduate recruitment events to inform overall graduate outreach and recruitment strategies. Generate reports to track weekly graduate enrollment statistics, as well as create ad hoc queries using CRM.

  • Create and maintain processes, procedures and metrics for tracking the success of various recruiting and marketing methods.

  • Perform market analysis by monitoring and assessing competitiveness of SFTV's graduate programs, analyzing admissions feedback from prospective students, and assessing effectiveness of communication strategies.

  • Be an advocate for identification and approval of programs, events and collateral important to successful recruitment.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requisite Qualifications

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Graduate degree is preferred. Film School graduate experience preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Minimum four years of experience in managing/supporting recruitment and/or student advising programs at a university or college, or with corporate clients and adult learners.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of graduate admissions processes, requirements, policies, and their relationship to other academic and administrative offices.

  • Advanced experience working with admission CRM systems like Slate and Banner highly preferred.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to represent SFTV graduate programs. Commitment to LMU'S Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.

  • Ability to provide competent advice to prospective students, being sensitive to individual needs. Maintain confidentiality of admissions records. Prioritize, delegate, and ensure completion of a variety of tasks with multiple deadlines. Maintain a personable and professional demeanor at all times. Discretion is a must.

  • Highly developed organizational and customer service skills. Must be highly motivated, self-directed, detailed and results oriented with the ability to maintain multiple projects.

Salary range

$66,560.00 - $75,200.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
