Summary:

Performs all functions necessary to assist the Production Team Leader in the daily operation of the production room. Responsibilities include inventory control, maintenance of production room, and training and supporting Production Team Members. Exhibits desire and potential to move into a Team Leader position

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily production and preparing of items for retail sale, including handling,

trimming and boning of fish.

Train Team Members in proper product handling and storage, and equipment operation. Assist in hiring, counseling and development of Production Team Members.

Recommend disciplinary action, transfers, promotions, rate increases Consult with Team Leader on Team Member job dialogues. In the absence of the Team Leader, supervise, schedule, and assign duties to the Team

Members.

Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy, to Team Leader for correction and report all accidents and injuries to Team Leader or Facility Leadership immediately. Properly and accurately record time using time clock at the beginning and end of each shift and for unpaid meal breaks during shift.

Responsible for adhering to, enforcing, and observing proper dress code. Non-slip waterproof boots must be worn. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Team Leader.

Intellectual Requirements:

Comprehensive seafood product knowledge Demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills, preferably one or more years of experience in being able to direct and supervise individuals and manage work and priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to train and mentor Team Members. Basic computer skills or the ability to learn Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and

division).

Strong organizational and communication skills

holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.

Bend and lift loads, up to 50 pounds unassisted. Occasionally may lift weight of up to 100 pounds. Push and pull carts/equipment weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.

Ability to perform job by repetitive use of right and left hands for simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling and fine manipulation. While exact time may vary for each task, constant use may be anywhere from one hour up to six hours at a time. Must be able to consistently bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat during the course of a work shift. Operate department/office equipment including computer keyboard and 10-key calculator.

Work Environment

Flexibility to work in varying temperatures (cold and Wet) Work in a moderately noisy environment Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.

Performance Standards:

Assist Team Leader in training and maintaining a team of knowledgeable, well-trained Team Members. Enforce loss prevention controls and strive for minimum shrink.

Maintain safe and sanitary work conditions throughout the Cooler area in compliance with applicable Health and Safety Codes. Assist Team Leader in leading a department that promotes open, frequent Team Member communications, maximum involvement and achievement of growth potential.
