To us there are no foreign markets.Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a knowledgeable and motivated leader to lead our Securities Settlements team. The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload.Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and management of the Canadian, US, and International Equity and Fixed Income Settlements at Canaccord Genuity ;
  • Assuming a lead internal role CDS Post Trade Modernization implementation and the industry T+1 initiative
  • Annual review and update of Business Impact Analysis and Business Resumption Plan;
  • Biannual review of ICFR narratives and assistance with Internal Audits Departmental Controls review;
  • Assisting Equity Capital Markets/Debt Capital Markets as with Settlement logistics for Canaccord led deals in CDS or DTC;
  • Represent Canaccord Genuity on industry committees;
  • Build strong relationships with your peers within Canaccord and the industry to share ideas and knowledge on topics that impact our business;
  • Work closely with internal & regulatory auditors as required;
  • Promote growth & development of Settlements team members to enable superior service to our internal and external clients;
  • Drive efficiency initiatives, effecting change as appropriate;
  • Complete staff performance reviews;
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years managing a key Financial Services Operations business unit;
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CDS and DTC procedures and rules, including risk and collateral management functions;
  • Understanding of Buy-in principles in Canada and the US, including Reg SHO;
  • Experience with settlements in UK, Europe, and Australia an asset;
  • Understanding the principles of National Instrument 24-101 & IIROC CDS TRAX DP Trade Match Comparison are assets;
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Familiarity with and understanding of interdependencies with other Operational teams an asset;
  • Possess the ability to think strategically and be adaptable to change;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining a keen attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills to drive efficiencies;
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word,Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Broadridge Dataphile, CDS, DTC and ARROW required.
