Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Services Operation Analyst to join us. In this role, you will partner with consulting leaders to help them understand the drivers of both revenue and expenses and use financial and operational metrics to help them grow their business. You'll be accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating and resolving variances, supporting financial forecasting, preparing and supporting contracting, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. You'll need to be able to understand complex financial problems and provide explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated. As a Services Operations Analyst, you will also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to support multiple teams and global regions for Red Hat's fast-growing Services team.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders

  • Review and approve project related assets and expenses (supplier invoices, time sheets, and overhead charges)

  • Authorize access to project accounts as well as transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts

  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management

  • Confer with receivables associates regarding unpaid contract billings

  • Report on project profitability, opportunities for additional billings, and project funding

  • Create or approve all project-related billings to customers

  • Investigate all project expenses, including write-offs and project closeouts

  • Compile information for internal and external auditors as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts with knowledge of project contracts and change order documents

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in operations or business functions

  • Advanced experience with spreadsheets (pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of, experience with, and background in (SFDC) or similar customer relationship management (CRM) tools

  • Energetic and detail-oriented; ability to work as part of a team

  • Focused, results-oriented, and motivated; sense of personal accountability

  • Demonstrated solid customer service and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment

  • Ready to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand like quarter or year end

  • Experience in a services or consulting business role is a plus

Due to recent new business awards of exciting projects, PRA is seeking to strengthen the leadership within Real World Solutions by welcoming on board a new Director or Senior Director of Operations. The fundamental focus of your role will be to provide strategic and operational oversight and leadership to global project teams within the Real World Solutions group. Using your established knowledge of peri- and post-approval research, you will be instrumental to ensure the correct planning, implementation and monitoring of study activities to ensure the highest standards of quality and delivery. Project / program oversight, departmental leadership, high-level client management and line management are all aspects of this challenging and rewarding role. Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations of Real World Solutions, your key responsibilities will include: * To provide strategic direction to sides of Real World Project Managers and Project Directors, providing leadership in the implementation of PRA's quality standards and processes * To ensure projects are being managed within the contracted schedule and budget via regular project status reviews, identifying risks and trends and corresponding mitigation strategies. * To manage resource to ensure profitability * To manage a group of specialist Real World Project Managers and Project Directors, ensuring they each have the tools needed to succeed via career development, training, performance assessment and feedback. You will also be responsible for hiring and retention within your team * To confidently and effectively manage client relationships, interfacing with customer representatives at a high level to ensure expectations are met and preferably exceeded discussing areas of risk, timelines and project progress.To act as an internal and external point of escalation for resolution of emergent risks and issues * To internally represent the functional area of Real World Solutions within corporate initiatives at PRA * To contribute to business development via your input to proposals and project bids, attending bid defenses and other client meetings, as required Additionally, you may also be involved in PRA's efforts to ensure continuous improvement in policies, procedures and business processes, and/or lead departmental initiatives to ensure global harmonization.
