The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Services Operation Analyst to join us. In this role, you will partner with consulting leaders to help them understand the drivers of both revenue and expenses and use financial and operational metrics to help them grow their business. You'll be accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating and resolving variances, supporting financial forecasting, preparing and supporting contracting, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. You'll need to be able to understand complex financial problems and provide explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated. As a Services Operations Analyst, you will also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to support multiple teams and global regions for Red Hat's fast-growing Services team.
Primary job responsibilities
Create and maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
Review and approve project related assets and expenses (supplier invoices, time sheets, and overhead charges)
Authorize access to project accounts as well as transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts
Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
Confer with receivables associates regarding unpaid contract billings
Report on project profitability, opportunities for additional billings, and project funding
Create or approve all project-related billings to customers
Investigate all project expenses, including write-offs and project closeouts
Compile information for internal and external auditors as required
Bachelor's degree with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts with knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
3+ years of progressive experience in operations or business functions
Advanced experience with spreadsheets (pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.)
Basic understanding of, experience with, and background in Salesforce.com (SFDC) or similar customer relationship management (CRM) tools
Energetic and detail-oriented; ability to work as part of a team
Focused, results-oriented, and motivated; sense of personal accountability
Demonstrated solid customer service and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment
Ready to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand like quarter or year end
Experience in a services or consulting business role is a plus
