Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Transition Engineer to join our team, supporting projects on the Air Force network. As a Service Transition Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing products, facilitating deployments, and overseeing the sunset of systems, primarily focusing on cloud services.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Products: Evaluate various products and technologies to determine their suitability for deployment within the Air Force network environment.

  • Facilitate Deployments: Lead the deployment process of new services and technologies, ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure while adhering to Air Force network standards and protocols.

  • Sundown Systems: Coordinate the decommissioning process of outdated systems and services, ensuring a smooth transition to newer, more efficient solutions.

  • Troubleshoot: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to deployed services, providing timely solutions to minimize disruptions to operations.

  • Documentation Review: Read and interpret product documentation to gain insights into functionalities, limitations, and best practices, utilizing this knowledge to make informed recommendations to the government.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including network engineers, system administrators, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to service transition and cloud computing, and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 8 years of IT/applicable experience (A BS/BA can substitute for 4 years)

  • Presentation and writing skills.

  • Experience with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.

  • Coordinating meetings, teleconferences, and drafting minutes.

  • Creating schedules.

  • Briefing leaders.

  • Active SECRET clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior DoD or USAF working experience.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in network engineering, system administration, or related fields, with a solid understanding of cloud services and technologies.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical products and systems, identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven track record of troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions in a timely manner.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of work, including documentation and implementation.

  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
