Job Functions
As technology advances our equipment and services, the Product Training Specialist role is critical to developing and supporting the division's mission of training our distributors and customers. The primary role of this position is to develop technical and sales product training material and to deliver training content to Commercial distributors and customers. Product content ranges from common turf equipment systems, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and cutting unit technology, but also includes highly technical content such as Tier 4 engine controls, alternative power, autonomous, robotics and software systems.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions covering specific program content related to Commercial products, services and processes. This includes but is not limited to distributor technician training, factory service schools for end-customers, and onboarding of distributor new hires.
Coordinate shipping of equipment to training sites; schedule, setup and prepare in-person and virtual classroom spaces; and conduct trainings. While onsite or virtual, handle all computer and student problems that might arise during the class while working with site management personnel with any facility problems.
The Product Training Specialist will promote division programs and provide appropriate program support to training participants. The trainer will positively represent both The Toro Company and Toro products to the channel and our customers.
Evaluate existing instructional content and keep up to date. This includes preparing and updating instructional content, refining eLearning content, and other training-related opportunities for all supported businesses.
Leverage the latest technologies in the Learning and Development industry to create, execute and maintain training programs. This includes researching and implementing new technologies into instruction.
Manage the division's training shop along with managing internal equipment, support tools and field training support assets.
File company expense reports in a timely, accurate manner with expenses being cleared at least monthly. Care will be exercised to only charge valid, business expenses on company credit card. Comments should be included with each transaction to clarify the expense.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Service Trainer II
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in related industry
2-4 years' experience in public speaking and/or teaching in a classroom environment with the ability to connect with the audience and hold their attention.
3-5 years' experience troubleshooting and working with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to deliver in-depth presentations and develop accurate training materials.
Must enjoy speaking with, instructing and interacting with people from various backgrounds, languages and ethnic groups (including through the use of an interpreter)
While most work is performed at Toro's headquarters, field training support will be required which could potentially include up to 40% travel time.
Service Trainer III
All requirements in Service Trainer II
Graduate degree (preferred) in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in related industry or a degree in instructional design, education, or related learning and development field
5-7 years' experience in public speaking and/or teaching in a classroom environment.
6-8 years' field experience in troubleshooting and working with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to deliver in-depth presentations and develop accurate training materials.
While most work is performed at Toro's headquarters, field training support will be required which could potentially include up to 40% travel time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Articulate 360 (Storyline and RISE)
Experience with LMS platforms such as Absorb and Percipio
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Camtasia, or Dreamweaver
Spanish language would be highly beneficial
Self-motivated with excellent project, time management and organization skills
Demonstrated leadership, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence all levels of management.
Strong interpersonal skills - professional, courteous, friendly and helpful
Proven ability to work as part of a team, accept feedback and make necessary changes
Excellent computer and keyboarding skills (Microsoft Office, Internet)
