We are seeking an Service Tech who will work under the direction of the Field Operations Manager. You would be performing maintenance and repair functions on water vending machines in accordance with our best practices in assigned district.

Ideal candidates for this position are self-motivated who have good customer service and communication skills. Have mechanical aptitude, general math and computer skills and enjoy working outdoors. Most of the job duties are performed independently and with limited supervision.

What would be my responsibilities?

  • Performs routine service, maintenance and repair of water vending machines on a regular service cycle at all locations on assigned route.

  • Records service and maintenance activity and water vending readings service records located in each of the water vending machines. Enters water vending readings on the handheld scanner.

  • Where applicable, ensures that monetary collections are made, transported and deposited as instructed in a timely, accurate and safe manner.

  • Drives a company-provided vehicle in a safe manner and observes all security measures established by the company in the operation of its vehicles. Keeps vehicle clean at all times and reports any malfunction promptly.

  • Prepares for each day's work by making sure that the vehicle is adequately supplied with the proper tools, filters, test equipment, parts, etc. Maintains proper inventory of all tools and supplies checked out and reports monthly inventory counts.

  • Ensures all service calls in assigned route are resolved within the timeline outlined by company policies and that these are closed at the time the machine is serviced for the service call by scanning the machine bar-code.

  • Due to the nature of some remote routes, where there's limited staff resources due to the geographical location, the Service Technician may be required to be in "Call-In" mode or available to cover service calls on weekends and on Company-observed holidays. In addition, this position may occasionally be required to be "On-Call" or standby duty. In either case, the Company's "On-Call" and/or "Call-In" pay guidelines will apply.

  • May include excessive driving

Do I have what it takes?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a clean and valid driving record. Primo's fleet of vehicles are smoke free.

  • Will be required to successfully complete a background check and a basic pre-employment physical

  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and/or construction

  • Able to frequently lift and/or move 30 lbs. and periodically lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.

  • Work with heights of 10 ft. or more via ladder

  • Ability to troubleshoot, manage and diffuse tense situations caused by machinery breakdowns

  • Self-sufficient, positive attitude, professional demeanor and appearance

  • Ability to prioritize and have an acute sense of urgency

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment with cross collaboration

You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. Principal Responsibilities: * Complete a structured learning/development program consisting of hands-on learning and practical field-coaching experience * Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with co-workers * Provide assistance to and learn from Service Technicians on equipment start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed air systems. * Independently perform service to assure equipment operates to customer's requirements as program progresses * Work under close supervision of other Service Technician * Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment * Use wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment * Understand the basics of onboard control system * Document service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets * Increase Ingersoll Rand customer's awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services and solutions; (such as Package Care, Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection) can benefit their operations * Assist the Service Technician/coordinator in maintaining rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements * Ensure proper operation of compressed air equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and 47 point inspections on a wide variety of compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers and additional compressed air components * Work with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs * Travel daily to customer sites, occasional overtime, and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet customers' needs. Apprentice Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required and have completed a diploma or degree program in Electrical/Electronics Technology or HVAC with basic knowledge of some or all of the following: AC/DC circuits, wiring diagrams/schematics, motors/controls, PLCs, HVAC electricity, controls, refrigeration systems and/or refrigerant certification. Candidates who possess this knowledge or skills but have not completed a formal program may be considered. * Desired applicants will have 1-3 years' related experience * Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and other basic computer usage. Working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) and network bases. * Candidates will use Ingersoll Rand provided tools * Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. * EPA 608/F-GAS 303/2008/CE/ISHRAE Certification Preferred (Refrigeration experience/certification a plus). * This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage) with NFPA or equivalent standards. * This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
