Job Requirements & Skills
Overall Position Focus:
Responsible for working with customers and Pentair employees to coordinate the return of products according to policy, then evaluate and repair as appropriate. The position consists of 50% bench work, repairing products. The balance of the time is spent communicating to customers preventive and repair procedures, assigning return authorization numbers, and/or replacing products under our warranty policy.
The position requires an energetic and dynamic individual who can communicate to customers in a positive, professional manner. They must also be able to understand Pentair's marketplace and customer base, making critical decisions on warranty claims that might effect customer relations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer telephones in a courteous, cordial and business-like manner.
Evaluate and repair Pentair products accurately and within defined timeline. Enter evaluations into computer system for reporting and record purposes.
Issue authorization numbers for the return of Pentair products and enter the return information into the computer system.
Understand and use policies, procedures and systems in place.
Understand and use the SAP computer system.
Make decisions on all Pentair product repairs classifying them as warranty or non-warranty items.
Train and educate customers and/or employees on maintaining and servicing all products offered by Pentair.
Recognize problems and offer ideas for improvement.
Communicate and work with all Pentair employees and departments.
Minimum travel required.
Keep work areas clean and orderly.
Practice safe work habits, actively work to keep accidents from happening.
Maintain quality standards, achieve and maintain daily requirements.
Possess good communication skills and have the ability to keep a positive attitude in all daily situations. Accept and take the initiative to adjust to company and departmental changes.
Continue to refine skills and improve the quality of work output. Work as a team member to help achieve departmental goals.
Must be able to work overtime as requested by department managers.
All other duties that are asked by management to be done in the best interest of the company and its employees.
Direction of others:
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and three years of directly related work experience. Must have a broad, in-depth knowledge of all existing and previous Pentair products.
Must have basic typing and computer skills. Continue to refine skills and improve the quality of work output by continuous learning through workshops and classes.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Physical requirements are standing, walking, lifting and lowering weights of 50 pounds.
