Our Service Technicians are the face of JBT. This position requires professional and positive customer interaction. Our Service Technicians mtaintain and repair industrial food processnig equipment in our customers' processing facilities.
This positions works at a customer plant in Arcadia, Florida.
This is a first shift lead position.
Candidates must be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), overtime, and weekends as required.
Service and maintain JBT equipment at customer's site. This includes activities of safety, communication, customer service, and housekeeping.
Complete internal and external records and reports and submit them to the Service coordinator or supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist other service technicians in installing, removing or making major mechanical changes equipment.
Have knowledge of customers' machinery and processes used in fruit processing.
Hold a valid Florida driver's license and have a safe driving record, if assigned a JBT company vehicle.
Ability to communicate and transfer information to next shift and/or to supervisor.
Manage equipment overhaul so that performance will be to JBT and customer standards and completed within a timely schedule.
High School Diploma or GED
Mechanical and Electrical experience
Individual may be required to travel or work out-of-town overnight and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You must be physically capable of:
Working 10 hours per day, 6 days a week for 12 months at a time
Working around moving industrial machinery
Using hand tools
Occasionally lifting parts or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally stooping, crouching, and reaching
Walking and standing for entire shift
Receiving and conveying detailed instructions
Applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm and perceiving the texture of parts
Working around exposure to machinery noise, coolants and oils, and fumes from associated flammable aerosol products
Working around exposure from metal turnings, sharp metal edges, and moving machinery
Working in moderate to extreme heat
Handling moderate stress to complete work due to time constraints
Entering data in computer
Operating a forklift
