The Service Technician position shall conduct hands-on troubleshooting and shall facilitate repair of warranty returns and out of box field failures for all of our product lines, service instruments, as well as execute calibration of light and color measurement instruments. This position is responsible for timely turnaround, proper documentation, transaction and rework of returned merchandise.
The Service and Repair Technician will perform the following type of activities:
Disassemble instruments, using hand tools, and examines parts for defects.
Repair or replace defective parts of instruments, using hand tools and soldering equipment.
Keep records on repair and calibration of instruments.
The person in this position will have to interact with internal and external customers to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. The Service Technician shall have an active role and responsibility to work within a cross-functional team to continuously improve JADAK's products, processes and policies.
Additional Technician's Duties
Ensures accurate quotes and evaluation has been performed within JADAK's Service Process.
Follow all JADAKs internal service and quality procedures
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Characteristics
Understanding of complex electrical systems including barcode scanners and machine vision systems
PCB construction and performance
Minimum Education & Experience:
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
Ability to use vision to read computer screen and read printed materials.
Regularly lift 30-50 pounds & perform repetitive tasks.
Regularly possess manual dexterity to assemble & test instruments quickly and accurately.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on optical inspection equipment.
