THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION.
1.Performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures.
2.Responds to customer requests for service including connections and disconnections as becomes operator qualified.
3.Informs customer of needed repairs and answers basic questions. Ensures that customer understands and is satisfied with work completed.
4.May disconnect service as necessary and perform collection efforts on delinquent accounts.
5.Installs programs and operates Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment as necessary.
6.Assists with activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
7.Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
8.May read meters and record usage for billing.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.May be required to hold stand-by duty work shifts holidays weekends emergency call outs and occasional extended hours.
2.Is subject to reporting outside regular work area.
3.Identifies addresses and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
4.Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
5.Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values strategies policies and procedures and learns the core values of AtmoSpirit Customer Service Safety and the Company's Code of Conduct both as an individual contributor team member and/or leader of others.
6.Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual live by the spirit of its intent and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.

Educational/Experience LevelRequires a general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.Certificates Licenses etc.While in this level completes Gas Essentials workshop and completes companion Operator Qualification (OQ) and OJT. Must maintain position OQs and any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications.Computer SkillsRequires ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet web site and available resources for data entry reference and/or retrieval tasks.Communication SkillsRequires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on basic types of factual information.Work ConditionsWork requires entry to customer premises.Works outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures high noise levels rough terrain and occasional work on ladders roofs attics and under houses as well as confined spaces.

May have residence requirement due to call-out response time.Works as an individual contributor and/or as member of a team.Physical DemandsRequires occasionally performing activities including but not limited to bending stooping grasping reaching twisting turning and/or lifting.Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.Must be able to lift tools equipment and materials up to and including 60 pounds.Other RequirementsAs a Safety-Sensitive position pre and post employment screenings including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.Atmos Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Key Business Objectives: A Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for maintenance and service of USA Compression equipment reporting to the Area Service Manager (ASM). With minimal supervision and significant autonomy, the typical areas of responsibility include safely performingscheduled maintenance, maintaining and building customer relationships, and providing first line support for equipment troubleshooting. USA Compression employees are proudly responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment and positiveworkplace aligned with our Pillars culture.RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities: * Ensure routine maintenance plan in place and minimize down time on all assigned equipment. * Understand and follow company handbook, and all company or customer safety and environmental policies. * Maintain run time of natural gas compression units per contractual agreements. * Accurately gather and prepare data for reports critical to unit operations on regular due dates. * Respond quickly to ASM or customer inquiries. * Oversee and/or participate in the installation of compression units and customer with installations. * Work closely with the Lead Service Tech and ASM on major repairs; escalate when necessary based on protocol. * Maintain and operate company vehicle according to company guidelines. * Work with sales team to identify new sales or equipment opportunities. * Maintain and/or partner with a parts department to ensure sufficient parts inventory for each unit. * Keep each assigned unit clean following good housekeeping rules and maintain safe working conditions. * Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Skills/Capabilities and Education: * Solid professional communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other employees. This role is often the USAC position with the most customer interaction. Excellent customer service and positive communication skills arecritical to the success in the FST role. * Technical or trade school certification or additional work experience in related field. * Prefer at least 2 years of experience in gas compression with preference to CAT, Ariel and/or Cummins certifications and experience. Depending on the equipment assigned, this role may maintain large or small horsepower units, gas lift or traditional compressionunits along with other related equipment associated with our business. * Ability to be self-managed and work independently with little or no supervision. * High degree of mechanical ability. * Experience reading and understanding technical manuals. * Capable of safely driving commercial size truck * Valid driver's license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression. * Experience in configuring natural gas compression equipment. * Ability and flexibility to work extended hours including periodic on-call weekends. * Full time hourly (non-exempt) level position. Working Conditions: * Travel is required up to 90% of the time worked. * Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs. * Ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs; and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and crawl depending on the task requirements. * Exposure to extremes in temperature and weather conditions depending upon assigned location. * Some exposure to high noise levels in excess of 85dBA that require ear protection, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials. * Working conditions in natural gas compression vary from one job site to another. Some job sites are indoors in compressor stations while other sites are outside, exposed to a variety of weather conditions. * There is a strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.
