Job Summary:

Manages the Service Department at a branch location. Expands the customer base.

Ensure compliance with policy and regulations. Oversees effective use of resources. Maintains service staff incl. hiring, training, coaching & retaining technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • 50%: Selects, orients, directs, motivates, evaluates and retains staff capable of meeting current and projected Department objectives. Makes recommendations and/or decisions on various personnel matters such as salaries, performance reviews and terminations. Responsible for keeping technicians trained on new equipment and monitors future upgrades needed for compliance and regulations.
  • 20%: Advises customers on service problems and provides customer service and support to build and maintain accounts. Resolve customer complaints, including invoice inquiries, customer satisfaction, and employee performance.
  • 15%: Coordinate with Dispatch department to effectively and efficiently utilize labor

resources.

  • 15%: Participates in establishing budgets and creating a profitable growth plan for the Service Department. Manages Department to achieve budgeted sales and cost goals. Provide feedback to Branch Manager and Corporate Service Manager regarding new service opportunities.

  • 5%: Ensures safety procedures, policies and law are being followed. Hold staff accountable for safety.

    Ensure staff receives appropriate safety training and equipment for each assignment. Maintain accountability for service truck inventory and establish an inventory audit schedule. Ensure tools and vehicles are available and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar industry

  • Licenses/Certifications: Relevant factory certifications such as Gilbarco Veeder-Root Dispensing Certification preferred.

    Multiple licenses and certification must be obtained and kept current during employment. Required valid driver's license.

  • Technical Abilities: Knowledge of electronic and petroleum equipment repair, products and equipment.

  • Autonomy/Direction: Takes performance expectations from senior leaders and directs the work of others to meet expectations. Works with little to no supervision and is required to demonstrate high-level decision-making including personnel decisions.

Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment:

Working Hazards: Works in a seated position for extended periods of time. Occasionally works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.

  • Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.

  • Tools and Equipment: Ability to accomplish the described duties through the use of appropriate computer and general office equipment. Works with Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
