This position reports to

Drives Service Workshop Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to repair a variety of standard drive units and subassemblies. Each day, you will ensure the best possible and most cost-effective problem resolution.

You will also showcase your expertise by executing work as per first-time right approach and ensuring the job is done on time and as per quality standards The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the USA. You will be mainly accountable for: • Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing workshop orders according to workshop processes and guidelines. • Performing workshop tasks such as troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing. • Checking bill of materials and other documents to identify required parts needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available. • Ensuring the completion, processing, and maintenance of all required documentation. Qualifications for the role

• Associate's degree in electronics and two years related experience; or High school diploma and four years of related electrical experience.

• Must be capable of passing Electrical Competency and Authorization Program (ECAP) level 3.

• Prior experience working with hand and power tools

• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives and the applications it supports preferred

• Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred

• Ability to read and comprehend assembly instructions, bills of materials, assembly drawings, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete work assignments and communicate one on one with other employees of the organization.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach above shoulders; use foot/feet to operate equipment; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and taste or smell.

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
