Job Description

Employee understands and executes the prepping of all incoming service parts. Employee also executes the pulling of service parts to meet customer requirements per order. Employee is required to understand the standard work involved with prepping and pulling service parts required based on customer and stocking level demand. Employee will be required to utilize the company's ERP system to identify accurate stocking locations, and thorough understanding of product availability. The person will complete any required quality inspections (cosmetics, labeling) and adhering to all safety and 6s corporate policies.

The ideal candidate for a Service Parts Technician would be able to do the following:

  • Executes the preparation of each incoming part received into the service parts area. This process involves bagging, labeling, and packing service parts so they can be properly picked, packed and shipped per customer requirements.

  • Efficiently pull/pick service parts to meet customer requirements per order.

  • Utilize the ERP system to accurately identify service parts locations as well as understand product availability.

  • Must be able to use hand tools (pneumatic nail gun and stapler),

  • Must be able to read and interpret product drawings, work instructions, and quality control checklists.

  • Understands and clearly comprehends all of the customer requirements identified on a pick ticket/customer order.

  • Will equally share in the department's OT needs

  • Will act, talk and treat co-workers as well as all internal customers with respect at all times.

  • Identifies gaps in quality, processes, equipment, safety issues and materials to the Team Leader.

  • Complies with all policies/procedures, quality standards, and safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Work independently or as a team to satisfy internal customer demand.

  • Understand and complies with all ISO documentation/policies for their job classification.

  • Prepare/recommends modifications to processes related to productivity (cost reduction) improvement and quality by using internal CI submission form.

Qualifications

For a candidate to be successful as a Service Parts Technician they must have:

PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Follow documented work instructions, quality control checklists, and customer requirements identified on the pick ticket. The employee utilizes gained knowledge to perform basic incoming parts preparation, service parts picking/pulling all under the direction of the manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Good manual dexterity for use of hand and power tools.

  • Frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch;

  • Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
