As the Service Now Senior Developer, you'll have the exciting opportunity to be involved in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications and web services developed on the ServiceNow, Workday and/or future cloud-based development platforms.

Within OFM, the Enterprise Applications Development Team provides technology solutions and management in support of the agency's mission, strategic plan, and the agency's IT Portfolio. The Enterprise Applications Cloud Platform Development Team is a team created for the specific purpose of developing and leveraging Cloud Platforms to quickly deliver business value and meet customer needs. Additionally, this team supports development on other agency Enterprise platforms and future cloud-based platforms such as ServiceNow, Dynamics365, Workday, as well as the applications developed and deployed on these platforms.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow environment to include new or modifications to applications, forms, flow, workflow, UI policies, UI actions, Business Rules, ACLs, UI Builder, scheduled jobs and any other configurations required to support business and IT needs.

  • Provide guidance on how to write complex back-end code; Develop training to support software developers and business analysts learning to develop on the ServiceNow platform.

  • Design, develop, test, implement, administer, or maintain agency and business unit web applications that interact with databases, web services or data warehouses from software requirements specifications and other related business analysis artifacts using C, C#, JQuery, .NET Frameworks and MS-Office products.

  • Conduct peer code reviews on products developed by junior or peer positions.

  • Solve highly complex IT problems, including defining & analyzing the problem, identifying & testing solutions, choosing & implementing the best solution, documenting the changes in the agency configuration management tracking system (Azure DevOps, or other similar systems) and evaluating the outcome.

  • Architect ServiceNow solutions that align with Business and IT needs.

  • Develop and implement integrations with existing Applications.

Required:

  • Either a bachelors degree or higher in an Information Technology program or a closely related field OR additional closely related qualifying experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Seven (7) years of (full-time equivalent) of progressive information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, directing projects; providing customer or technical support in information technology.

AND

  • Three (3) years of (full-time equivalent) professional experience in ServiceNow development, including:

  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Platform and associated Modules.

  • Extensive experience of direct development with the ServiceNow platform - UI Actions, UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Catalog Client Scripts, Catalog UI Policies, Email Scripts, Roles / Groups.

  • Experience with importing and exporting data to ServiceNow using data loads, transform maps and transform scripts.

  • Experience in web application development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AJAX, REST and SOAP integrations.

  • Experience designing and developing ServiceNow process flows and workflows.

  • Developing and maintaining standards, guidelines and best practices at an agency and enterprise level.

Desired:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information System, or closely allied field (Engineering/Mathematics).

  • One (1) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience developing Microsoft application security, authentication, auditing, and exception handling protocols using the Microsoft Enterprise Libraries.

  • One (1) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience developing jQuery JavaScript libraries and or Angular J.

  • ITIL Service Management Foundation Certification.

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
