Service Manager

The Service Manager directs an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of service records.

  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.

  • Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reporting and tracking systems.

  • Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.

  • Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.

  • Establish and maintain 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction with service.

  • Maintain reporting systems required by general management and corporate personnel.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma.

  • Two years' service department experience in a commercial dealership environment.

  • Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.

VIEW JOBS 12/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-12T00:00 More Information about this Job Job Title: Vehicle Service Technician Location: Waco, TX Reports To: Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor Department: Operations Company: American Medical Response Summary: Responsible for the cleaning and stocking of vehicles and maintaining supplies/materials. Will assist in general maintenance and upkeep of buildings. Will also function as a driver as needed. Note: Is not responsible for routine cleaning and stocking of units during the shift. This should be done by the units' crew. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Stocks vehicles in preparation for on-coming crews. Performs terminal cleaning and restocking of units from off-going crews. Performs inventory on expendable medical and janitorial supplies; stocks as necessary. Assists in relaying units for maintenance. Relays equipment to appropriate destination for repairs. Performs routine checks and preparation of bio-medical equipment and performs minor troubleshooting procedures. Performs laundry duties. Cleans and performs upkeep at the main station. Assists with maintenance and upkeep of substations and grounds. May perform as an EMS Driver on the ambulance or wheelchair van as necessary. Performs routine maintenance of generators, stretchers and other equipment as directed. Makes routine checks of vehicles, equipment, building and systems, and completes reports/forms as required. Responsible for precepting new employees and observers as directed. The senior Service Technician on duty may function as the Service Technician Shift Leader if necessary. The Logistics Manager/Support Services Supervisor will delineate duties of the Shift Leader. Other duties as assigned. Must have current Driver's license in the State in which the Business Unit operates. Must have any other driver's license required by the jurisdiction in which the business unit is operating. Must have an acceptable driver history as determined by the company and outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual. Must meet all other requirements of drivers. In States where required, must possess a current Class D driver's license. Must be at least 18 years of age.
