Position Description

The Service Manager is primarily responsible for enabling and empowering a team of Customer Service Associates (CSAs) to deliver the best possible customer service experience in the store. This includes responsibility for customer facing activities on the sales floor (e.g., greeting customers, listening and probing to understand needs, identifying solutions), as well as non-customer facing activities (e.g., downstocking, inventory management and area recovery). The Service Manager ensures department(s) are customer ready at all times while inspiring engaging, customer-focused behavior, mitigating and reducing customer complaints, and driving positive first impressions for customers upon entering the store.

The Service Manager is responsible for coaching, mentoring, training, and continually monitoring Customer Service Associates in his/her area. The individual in this role is also responsible for leading Customer Service Associates in other departments, as needed, to meet the demands of the store. This requires broad product knowledge and the ability to engage employees and customers across departments.

Job Requirements

Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week; physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise; physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and 3 years of experience in a big box retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a big box retail environment
1 year of experience in customer service

Experience managing project teams (with or without direct report responsibility)

Experience recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing a service team (with or without direct report responsibility)

Experience working cross-functionally

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications
3 years of retail customer service experience

Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility

Experience working in the home improvement retail sector

Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic retail environment

Experience using store computer systems (including but not limited to: Project Tool, Genesis, M2O, Thin Client, etc.)

This position is also responsible for selling and cross-selling bank products and services. Additionally this position must deliver a high level of service by opening and closing deposit accounts, directing customer service issues, and handling client transactions. This position is also part of the team helping the Banking Center achieve their sales goals This position is part-time, working 26 hours with the following schedule: Monday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-6pm and 3 Saturdays per month 8:30am-12pm. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. * Minimum 2 years banking, retail sales or demonstrated customer service experience required. * Basic computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet applications. * NMLS Registration may be required* * English/Spanish speaking and reading ability preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for comprehensive, prompt, and efficient client transactions. Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into Horizon system. * Greet all clients as soon as they enter the banking center and work to develop a strong banking relationship with regular clients. * Balances cash drawer each day, meeting Republic's standard of performance. * Sell Republic's products and services. * Performs SSR transaction overrides & makes hold decisions * Receives mortgage, consumer loan and other payments, ensures the payments match balances due and enter payment into Horizon system. * Takes outgoing wire transfer requests; processes cash advances; cashes checks & processes withdrawals; opens & records the night drop deposit transactions; balancing ATM; researches necessary information upon client's request while following all security procedures for the banking center. * Open and close all types of deposit accounts (checking, savings, CD's) both business and personal, following all bank policies and procedures. * Monitor activity of all new accounts, to ensure all cross sales have been properly activated and on-boarding is followed and completed. * Adhere to Bank's new client on boarding process and procedures. * Actively work calling lists of existing clients to cross sell for other products or expanded relationships, including retention of existing accounts. * Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Excellent verbal communication skills. * Must use active listening skills to be able to uncover client opportunities for additional products and services. * Must be self motivated and able to work in a team environment. * Must be well organized and able to multi-task.
