Job Summary

With minimal supervision, works on a regular basis, performing assigned maintenance, installation, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations of equipment.A technical and operations expert on at least one modality and may be proficient in multiple modalities. Fully qualified to perform assigned maintenance, installation, repairs, adjustments and calibrations of multivendor X-Ray (Siemens, Toshiba, GE and Philips) and Konica Digital Radiography and Computerized Radiography. This position will require to perform Preventive maintenance and repairs on Interventional Equipment (IR/ Angio/ Specials/ Cath Labs).

Essential Functions

  • Provides technical training and mentorship to other engineers as appropriate

  • Provides alternate solutions for critical issues to management prior to implementation

  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories and supplies

  • Assist in a conductive capacity in the evaluation of purchase specifications

  • Works closely with management and radiology staff

  • Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, maintenance and daily service repairs

  • Effectively communicate with the experienced teammates and colleagues

  • Monitor and maintains quality control of services provided by other workers

  • Maintains timely, accurate and through documentation

  • Effectively complete all paperwork right after every repair has been performed

  • Resolves advanced service repair needs and communicates with internal teams.

  • Very familiar with IR equipment from multiple vendors (Philips, Siemens, Toshiba and GE)

Physical Requirements

Lifts and carries heavy equipment. Works with high voltage circuits and radiation emitting equipment. Handles delicate and expensive equipment. Must be able to read and understand highly technical equipment operating and repair manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with technical staff, students and physicians.

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma and 6 or more years of servicing electrical equipment required. Associate's degree or higher in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or related field OR equivalent military Biomedical education and 2 plus years of experience in Radiology Imaging Service preferred.
