DENSO is looking for a Service Engineer 1 in their Southfield, MI office. This individual provides service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of warranty improvement, root cause identification, installation, startup, maintenance & repair, training, and modification of equipment. They lead vehicle system level investigation testing activities related to returned components or parts that are found as No Trouble Found [NTF].

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements management approved short/mid-term strategy of Repair Service, Network Management and Service Tool programs in support to Original Equipment or Aftermarket customers.

  • Supports data collection of marketing intelligence, feasibility studies analysis, and business model/route formulation in developing business plans to justify service business opportunities.

  • Routinely analyzes, visualizes and develops root cause hypotheses primarily based on automotive warranty data sets.

  • Tracks and evaluates warranty issues and countermeasures to ensure sufficient action and timely resolution, including communicating status and countermeasure actions across DENSO.

  • Analyzes returned components and/or parts in order to identify problem with assistance of DENSO Engineering, Plant or other more experience Service Engineer. Participates in vehicle testing related activities and operates necessary equipment in order to determine failure mode and identify root cause of problem

  • Consults with higher-level engineer and/or manager on project strategy. Prioritizes own job responsibilities, adheres to urgency of providing information and seeks advice when necessary.

  • Identifies problem detection of customer technical issues through direct customer interaction and field visitation (Go & Study); to assure customer pain points are accurate and detailed for fast action.

  • In guidance from senior/advanced engineers, develops service publications such as manuals/guides, installation instructions, component parts lists, service bulletins, training and testing specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related Service Engineering experience with focus of vehicle diagnostics

Salary:

  • $63,900 - $80,000
