The Service Director in the Adult Outpatient Mental Health Department oversees all OP therapy services to adults ages eighteen through geriatric. The Service Director is responsible for ensuring that all behavioral health services are comprehensive, high quality, and cost effective while maintaining regulatory expectations. The Service Director will ensure that trauma-informed care is provided and will facilitate open communication among the team. The Service Director will emphasize the service delivery with Evidence Based Practices will remain up-to-date with current trends within the field. Duties will be performed in support of the Medical Center mission to ensure the highest quality of client care in an economically sound and efficient manner.


Job Requirements Education and Training:


Masters Degree in Social Sciences and Clinical License required (LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist) # Experience and Knowledge: Minimum of one year in Mental Health field required. *Ensures staff is knowledgeable and competent to perform duties by coordinating orientation, supervision, consultation, and training as reflected in departmental policies and records.

*Completes all annual staff performance appraisal forms and delivers to supervisor by due date. Meets with staff members on an ongoing basis to review performance and provide feedback, guidance, and instruction needed as demonstrated by timely submission of annual evaluations. # *Prepares goals and objectives for unit based on Medical Center mission and values, plan for delivery of care and scope of services and communicates such to staff. Assesses department#s progress on an ongoing basis as evidenced by statistics and financial reports.

*Directs operation of department to achieve financial objectives. Monitors budgets on an ongoing basis and prepares variance reports etc., to ensure financial goals are met or revised as appropriate as evidenced by A/R reports, utilization statistics, and financial reports.

*Participates in communicating and implementing policies and procedures for the department to provide guidelines for operations including protocols, performance criteria, and integration of services. Demonstrated by a complete and current Policy and Procedure Manual, minutes, and other records.

*Oversees chart compliance according to regulatory and departmental standards.

*Recommends space, staffing, training, and equipment needed by the department to meet patient needs and/or provide other services.

*Directs the quality improvement process through managing and assessing systems to improve performance and to identify needs, as demonstrated in QMI activities and reports.

*Assists in the selection, trains, assigns, and monitors staff. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions, including disciplinary actions as evidenced in supervision by Director.

*Acts as a resource to other staff as demonstrated in staff meetings and supervisory observation.

*Manages and assesses systems and services to ensure appropriateness and integration and coordination with other areas as indicated by active participation in Behavioral Health wide management activities.

*Utilizes sound critical judgment, seeks supervision when appropriate, and follows safety protocols.

*Operates as a self-starter in developing new ideas, making suggestions, and actively pursuing increased responsibilities, as evidenced in supervision. Mandated and Permissive Reproter Training required# #
