Our Jersey City office is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Operational Risk to join our Risk and Credit Group. The Operational Risk Management group is looking for an individual with a passion and interest for building and implementing robust risk frameworks across the business. In addition to oversight, individuals with interest in creation will thrive in this role. This role will engage with stakeholders across a multitude of business areas and departments and provide exposure to C-level leadership across the firm.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Create and enhance operational risk management frameworks and enterprise risk programs
Identify opportunities for process improvement and incident management
Co-manage and mentor junior member(s) of the team alongside the VP of Operational Risk
Drive value proposition and implement best practices across various business lines
Provide feedback on policy updates associated with regulatory items requiring remediation
Provide independent oversight and credible challenge to the first-line across all operational risk management activities
Collaborate with business experts in our various business lines and departments to facilitate the RCSAs
Collaborate with first-line business areas in creating KPCs that are directly aligned to key risks noted in the RCSAs
Produce action plans and report issues utilizing GRC tools
Lead and maintain reports from Management Risk Committees
Perform other duties as required and assigned
Experience and Skills
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required, preferably in Business or other related fields
7+ years of experience in Risk & Credit preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial institution covering ORM components including end-to-end RCSA management such as KRI/KPIs
Series 7 License preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability in dealing with challenging situations, navigating disagreement, and negotiation at different levels in the organization
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to streamline data, design and standardize risk reporting
Experience with GRC tools
Experience establishing framework in accordance with industry best practices
Knowledge of compliance laws, FINRA rules & regulations, risks and controls
Excellent writing and communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and in some cases, with short deadlines and without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
Strong decision-making and analytical skills, as well as problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Self-driven with ability to work independently
Financial Services, Operational Risk Management, and finance background desired

Discretionary compensation based on the colleague's and the firm's performance
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to location; skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current hiring range is $110,000-$140,000.
