Taos is immediately hiring a Senior Service Desk Manager for a cutting-edge financial company in San Francisco, CA!

Who you are:
You are a senior technologist with extensive knowledge of desktop technologies and patching. Your experience gives you the perspective to see the big picture while managing a large-scale onshore/offshore service desk. You understand the challenges of working in a regulated or financial services environment. You are comfortable heading up enterprise-wide deployments as well as configuration management initiatives. You have excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to work well with both management and end-users.

What youll be doing:
Managing a 25 person onshore / offshore primarily Windows based Service Desk
Overseeing the configuration of desktops and laptops for the entire bank.
Keeping on top of patch management and ensuring patching remains at current levels
Managing / tracking large-scale deployments
Ensuring security controls remain in place on workstations

What youll bring with you:
Strong Service Desk Management experience.
Configuration / Deployment Management skills.
Hands-on Windows support / Patching skills
Excellent written / verbal communication skills.
A strong strategic vision to see the big picture from both a technology and business perspective
Ability to pass a FINRA background check

This individual should be well versed in IT Service Management and have the experience of architecting ITSM tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy / Track It or JIRA etc., The person should have the ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate ITSM solution along with estimating the efforts and the cost.<br /> <br /> <strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br /> <br /> The Solution Architect will be responsible for the execution of complex projects by studying and understanding clients’ requirements, identifying gaps (if any) between clients’ requirements and the functional capabilities of existing solutions, and defining solutions to bridge the gap.<br />  <br /> <strong>Other duties include:</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Ensures the project scope is maintained and solutions implemented.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Solution architects usually work in information technology (IT) firms where their major responsibility is to design information solutions and integrate such solutions with computer hardware to meet specific business needs.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Examines current business architectural designs and working with other professionals to ensure successful implementation of such designs and completion of projects.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Responsible for the design, development, and integration of computer programs. He/she is also expected to oversee the testing of such programs. In some cases, he/she may not be the program developer but will ensure that the developer understands the business needs and works strictly in compliance with the needs of the client.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Works closely with clients and business representatives to understand their business needs and design unique plans to tackle the IT need of each business or client. The solution architect must also understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the business needs and the overall impact of his/her solution to the profitability of the business. So, he/she must at all times strive to propose and design IT solutions that would yield return on investment for the business.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Coordinating the activities of solution architecture unit, as well as reviewing proposals from vendors and suppliers for any project that requires external input. The solution architect identifies existing business risks related to the implementation of software design and ensures that such risks are mitigated.</li> </ul> <strong>Qualifications:</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;"><strong>Computer Literacy: </strong>To be a solution architect, on has to be computer savvy and must feel comfortable working with computers and/or IT systems for extended periods of time. The person must have basic knowledge of computer hardware and software, operating systems, and system security / database management.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;"><strong>Education and Certification: </strong>The person must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in an IT related discipline. This is usually not sufficient, though, as certification and/or extensive experience in the area of ITSM is also often required.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;"><strong>Communication: </strong>The position involves collaboration with clients and hence good verbal and written communications skills are required.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;"><strong>Analytical Thinking:</strong> Must be an analytical thinker.
