The Service Desk Intern will focus on projects and support, working in tandem with the Retail Technology Services (RTS) group and with the Desktop Technology Services (DTS) group.

  • Work with the RTS group on any current projects as needed.

  • Work with the DTS group team on any current projects, notably the PC Lifecycle project.

  • Learn and gain proficiencies with Desktop and Retail technologies including network, hardware and software support tools and infrastructure.

  • Know and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper timekeeping procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.

  • Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, and customers. Keep supervisor informed of any problems and/or any issues that need attention.

  • Participate in and contribute to MFA Oil's formalized internship program.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • A current student or May graduate of current year, majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, CMS or related field.

  • Moderate proficiency with MS Office Suite to include Microsoft Excel and Word, in addition to PC software systems familiarity.

  • Ability to accept and embrace accountability and be comfortable working in a strong team

  • A valid driver's license is required for travel.

  • Travel to remote sites or training as needed, not to exceed 25% travel.

  • Must meet Company requirements, including successful background and MVR check, and drug test.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors

As a Tiger Institute intern you will be part of the team and expected to contribute to the big picture just like any other team member does. You'll get a glimpse into both health care and information technology industries by providing support of Cerner health solutions and end users, work to improve processes, assist in report building, and more. Consultant Site Interns will also be given opportunities to participate in scheduled social events, gain leadership exposure, and participate in additional learning events. Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Healthcare, Liberal Arts or related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA * Enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester Expectations * Must reside in the Columbia, MO metropolitan area * Ability to work 10-15 hours per week during school year and 40 hours per week during summer (May-August) * Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Experience/exposure to Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs * Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position * Perform other responsibilities as assigned Cerner Columbia MO
