Role Summary:Do you have the passion to make a difference in people's lives? We are seeking those who desire challenging sales roles to be responsible for selling Service Contracts for our BioPharma Services business. You will foster and sustain relationships with customers using your knowledge of the Biotechnology and Cell Therapy industries.

This position will have responsibility for accounts in California and will be located in the field in the San Diego or San Francisco Bay Area

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Presents and sells Service Contracts through remote and field face-to-face contact. (60% through remote contact, 40% Field Contact)

  • Prospects, qualifies, quotes and closes new business primarily through remote contact

  • Delivers service revenues objectives

  • Supports Service Account Leaders and Product Service Sales Specialists on maximizing services sales opportunities

  • Captures assigned service sales opportunities to achieve and exceed contract capture, revenue and annual pricing increases targets in assigned product line and/or customer accounts through remote contact.

  • Implements proactive call schedule to increase sales growth.

  • Generates proposals, prepares service contract quotations, and demonstrates services value to assigned customers.

  • Prioritizes selling time to build and maintain a balanced funnel of prospects to generate sales, achieves account penetration and drives capture rate.

  • Develops and maintains consultative sales relationships with all key-buying influences in each account. Utilizes installed base information, sales and service reports/databases, new leads and cold-calling efforts.

  • Tracks call outcomes and opportunities through designated tracking processes and/or customer relationship management tools.

  • Supports and partners with field sales and service personnel in their efforts to sell service value.

  • Follows up on targeted marketing campaigns and maximizes incremental revenue.

  • Ensures seamless teamwork with the Equipment Sales, Product Services Sales specialists, Service Account Leaders, Marketing, Commercial Operations and U/S, Devices Commercial leader to maximize all sales potential.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy and Anti-Competition Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare HIPPA Guidelines, NEMA Regulations, etc.) and operates within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int'l Law is broken.

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Environmental Health Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare EHS Policies, GE Healthcare Fleet Rules, etc.) and operate within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int'l Law is broken

  • Ownership of order and configuration quality at the point of entry to ensure accuracy, configuration integrity and that all requirements are tied to documented customer inputs.

  • Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, work instructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of the Quality Management System.


  • Associates degree or several years of relevant experience

  • Minimum of one year of sales experience required

  • Selling and negotiation skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Service products and equipment modalities

  • Language proficiency in English (depending on region).

  • Strong customer skills.

  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time to visit and meet with customers and business meetings

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in life sciences

  • Greater than 2 years of sales experience

  • Working experience within services industry

  • High work standard and quality.

  • Effective problem solving.

  • Effective personal organization skills.

  • Ability to build and establish rapport with all levels and functions
