Job Summary

A position is available in the Eastern Division of Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut for a Service & Meter Reading Support Coordinator. This position will perform a supporting role across both the Service Department and Meter Reading Department. Service Department duties include support and management of the Periodic Meter Replacement Program. Meter Reading Department duties include route-relief duties for the Meter Reading group to ensure all meters are read to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Principal Responsibilities in Service Department

  • Manage and maintain the organization's Periodic Meter Program (PT program) letters for all E,W,C and contractors.

  • Provide customer support related to the PT program through inbound and outbound calls and emails.

  • Review and manage IW66 (Tasks Review) list edit for all PT notifications Service reviews.

  • Follow up on outstanding repair tasks with customers and contractors.

  • Ability to create, cancel and re-schedule notifications in SAP.

  • Ability to manage and maintain the Z_SCHEDULE appointment scheduler in SAP.

  • Identify and streamline PT program related processes to maximize productivity and efficiency.

  • Coordinate training, work, and goals related to the PT program with internal work groups as well as contractors.

  • Evaluate and understand applicable codes, ordinances and regulations related to water utilities as well as state and local government.

  • Support the back-office functions of the Service Department as needed.

Principal Responsibilities in Meter Reading Department

  • Perform all aspects of general meter reading during times of route relief.

  • Responsibilities including reading all types of meters, recording readings and account information on documents and hand-held computers, resolving out-of-bounds readings, updating service locations and account sequences, investigating lost accounts, and responding to customer inquiries.

  • Perform meter reading duties outside of normal working hours as required.

  • Assist with hydrant maintenance including pressure testing and painting.

  • Support the back-office functions of the Meter Reading Department as needed.

Preferred Requirements

  • Drive company vehicles in a safe manner and observe all safety rules and regulations.

  • Experience in planning, operations structure, and understanding of the Company's business processes related to water service and utility operations.

  • Solid understanding of capacity planning utilizing SAP is preferred.

  • Excellent communications (both written and oral), customer-service, troubleshooting, creative problem-solving skills, analytical, and organizational skills are required.

  • Must be able to initiate and work through conflict to achieve desired change.

  • Must also be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and meet commitments.

  • Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives is required as well as the ability to work independently as well as with work groups.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in performing duties.

Education/Certifications

  • Applicant must possess a high school diploma.

  • An associate degree in related field required, bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Applicants must hold and maintain a valid State of Connecticut license to operate a motor vehicle.

  • Applicants must be able to drive, stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods of time, walk long distances, lift 100 pounds and work in confined spaces.

Salary

  • Job is classified as a non-exempt position with a weekly salary range of $941.00 to $1147.50.

  • This role is 100% on site, working out of the Bridgeport office (600 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606).

  • Hours for this role are 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday.
