  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first team culture

  • Skills in guest engagement; problem solving and resolution

  • Knowledge of retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies

  • Skills in planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver service and sales goals

  • Experience leading a team of hourly team members; including skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent

As a Service and Engagement Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of passionate and knowledgeable Guest Advocates and Front of Store Attendants who strive toexceed guest service expectations by focusing ondecreasing wait time,friendly guest interaction and service recovery

  • Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on store sales goals and guest engagement

  • Lead and follow-up on training completion, checking for understanding and supporting continuous education opportunities to drive proficiencies for all front of store experiences

  • Engage in consistent, meaningfuldevelopment conversations throughout the critical touch points withinthe Guest Advocate and Front of Store Attendantcareer path

  • Personalize recognition and appreciation to reinforce critical guest service behaviors and promote a positive team and guest centric culture

  • Lead a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management (listen, observe, recognize and coach) on critical Service and Engagement behaviors

  • Understand business reporting and guest insights to understand, troubleshoot and follow-up on opportunity areas

  • Quickly respondtoany negative guest shopping experience by de-escalatingthe situation and ensuring yourteamunderstandsand feels supported to make things right for the guest

  • Follow-up and audit theschedulingallocation and guidelines to support peak traffic times, key holiday events andweekends

  • Assess the front of store experience and anticipate and/or react with urgency to any scheduling needs based on fluctuations in guest traffic and sales

  • Be a champion of physical and digital offerings toensure your team caninform, educate and promote the suite of benefits, features and offerings that reward our guest and/or enhance their shopping experience (Including Target RedCard and Wallet)

  • Expect and enable your team to stay up-to-date on upcoming major promotions, brand launches and events

  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team

  • Close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experiences

  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs(this includes early morning, evening, overnight shifts andweekends)

  • Utilize guest survey reporting tools to drive change in key areas with the greatest impact on guest experience; and use guest feedback to coach/recognize teams

  • Expect and enable team members to deliver orders efficiently and accurately to digital guests

  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment

  • If applicable, as a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes

  • Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)

  • All other duties based on business needs

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Service and Engagement Team Leader. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required

  • Lead and hold others accountable

  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs

  • Work independently and as part of a team

  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently and with a team

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude

  • Effective communication skills

SUMMARY Under general supervision, assists District staff in creating and implementing restorative practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -- Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Develop and implement informal and formal Restorative Practices. * Coordinate Restorative Practices and other professional development and services to the schools site in the service of reducing suspensions, expulsions and referrals to Special Education. * In partnership with the Engagement, Equity and SEL teams, use student data systems to analyze, modify and improve the work of reducing suspensions. * Provide service consultation and technical assistance to schools to include planning, modeling, and co-teaching/facilitating. * Train and provide ongoing professional development and support to staff in Restorative Practices. * Create and present information for the Board, the Cabinet, and to other groups as necessary. * Develop and maintain partnerships with community leaders and organizations; attend relevant discussion group/meetings related to youth issues, restorative justice, and services for youth and families. * Manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; identify and resolve issues and conflicts with clients. * Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations. * Manage special projects as they are assigned. * Work independently, and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience. * Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment * Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures. * Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records and MPS information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training and Experience Guidelines Bachelor's Degree in Education, or related field; AND two (2) years of program management experience in a K-12 educational environment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources. Knowledge of: * Principles, practices and implementation of district and school level Restorative Practices. * Principles, practices, and administrative techniques for service delivery programs. * Program management principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation and evaluation. * Principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees and managing in a team environment. * Computer applications related to the work. * Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment. * Techniques for understanding and effectively communicating with individuals of various cultures. * Minneapolis Public Schools policies and regulations. * State and Federal laws, statues, rules, codes and regulations governing activities. * Techniques and practices for efficient and cost effective management of resources. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work, heavy phone usage, and ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
