  • The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedules service appointments. Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.

  • Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.

  • Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts. Establishes "promised time".

  • Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promise time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.

  • Test-drive the vehicle or refer to the test technician as necessary.

  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index rating at least comparable to that of the manufacturer, zone or branch average.

  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, using maintenance menus.

  • Maintains a dealership-prescribed standard for "hours per customer repair order written."

  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA right-to-know, etc.

  • Follows all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.


  • High school diploma or the equivalent.

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

  • Two years of experience in a dealership position.

  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.

  • ASE certification preferred.

  • Sales experience preferred.

  • Professional personal appearance.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license

Performs all paperwork, technical, and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens. Assigns specific computer generated identification numbers, checks for accuracy, and records all items processed. Forwards accessioned specimens to designated laboratory location(s) while locating and correcting any discrepancies. Learns and keeps familiar with lab procedures and location of stored specimens. Locates specimens and pulls from various departments as requested. Follow instructions as required by the team leader, supervisor, manager. Technical Responsibilities: * Transport specimens to technical departments * Centrifuge and receive specimens * Make any necessary aliquots * Remove any clots/fibrin from specimen * Archive and retrieve specimens as needed from storage in departments * Research patient results for defined tests * Maintain inventory * Perform centrifuge and refrigerator/freezer maintenance as assigned * Discard specimens * Clean and sanitize workspace and restock supplies daily * Assist technologists as required * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Administrative Responsibilities: * Assist with filing of lab records EHS Responsibilities: * Attend all required EHS training * Wear appropriate PPE as required * Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, LCA EHS policies / procedures and the requirements of accrediting organizations * Conduct work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner Requirements: License/Certification/Education: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent w/1-2 years of experience. Physical Demands: * Speech clarity * Utilization of fingers and hands * Standing-remaining on one's feet in an upright position- 4 hours at a time * Sitting-remaining in the normal seated position * Handling-seizing, holding, grasping * Moderate physical effort (up to 30 pounds) * Long periods of time in walk-in refrigerator -- 2 hours at a time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM with rotating weekends Labcorp Birmingham AL
