Via Sophia by the Sea is an extension of Via Sophia at The Hamilton Hotel in Washington, DC. Reimagining the osteria experience for Kennebunk, where classic Italian dishes and fresh-from-the-boat seafood are paired with bespoke beverages and a discerning wine list. With a focus on quality, consistency, and hospitality, we offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Candidates must provide excellent service and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion

• Needs to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions

• Understanding of hotel restaurant operations; food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management as it pertains to the selling of food and beverages

• Responsible for maintaining exceptional service levels for all events

• Continually strive for sales growth by having ongoing knowledge of all current menus

• Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging. Anticipate your guest's needs

• Set the tone for success with a positive attitude and sincere enthusiasm

• Engaging in clear, consistent communications with leadership and restaurant staff

• Ensure that each customer is served efficiently and effectively

• Be a good example while working alongside team members

Additional Responsibilities:

• Any other duties assigned by the manager

• Familiarity with restaurant POS software

• Must be able to be on feet for the entire length of the shift

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
