Summary: Shuckers Server is responsible for creating exceptional experiences for guests as the primary point of contact in the dining area. This person utilizes their knowledge, skills and personality to sell and serve food, beverage and merchandise and to provide guests a friendly and efficient casual dining experience. Service delivery and appearance consistently meet the Company's brand expectations contributing to an over-the-top ambiance and all-out-fun guest experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides quality guest service, promoting and marketing Shuckers' brand
Consistently delivers exceptional service to guests while entertaining in a professional manner in accordance with Shuckers' brand expectation
Markets Shuckers, the Best Western and services offered to a targeted customer base
Performs in a public relations capacity when modeling and promoting Shuckers
Models Shuckers apparel and accessories during work hours, and maintains an appearance consistent with Shuckers brand expectation
Interacts and entertains guests in a cordial and gracious manner, thereby creating a memorable experience and building guest loyalty
Meets quality services standards with all guests by creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while visiting with guests and coordinating service requests
Serves food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
Ensures guests are pleased with their food and beverages after each course
Delivers an enthusiastic greeting and builds a relationship with all guests
Informs guests of food and beverage specials as well as upcoming and ongoing Shuckers events
Completes assigned side-work duties and assists in all opening and closing procedures
Ensures cleanliness in assigned workstation including all interior, exterior and dry goods areas
Maintains appropriate levels of condiment items in all server stations
Promotes a professional, safe, helpful and courteous work environment
Enters all orders and transactions in the point-of-sale system, and presents guest with receipt in a timely manner
Executes the safe and responsible sale of alcoholic beverages, verifies identification of guest appearing under 40 years of age
Attempts to up-sell brand name liquors, foods and wines
Ensures proper glassware and garnish is used for each cocktail
Completes cash drop and checkout procedures at the end of each shift
Maintains compliance with Responsible Vendors and food handling programs
Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Consistently maintains a well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene as deemed by management
Make-up, hair, appearance and style is aligned with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management and consistent with Shuckers brand
Outgoing personality, is warm and friendly; demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism, effective listening skills, strong judgment
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to verbally communicate and take direction
Ability to multi-task in high volume and fast paced work environment
Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
Strong attention to detail required
Must possess basic computer skills
Must possess basic math skills
Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities
Possesses knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
Capable of describing all menu items, prices and methods of preparation and using suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties
Working Conditions:
Most work tasks are performed outdoors; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10 degrees F) and kitchens (+110 degrees F), possibly for one hour or more
Work requires days, evenings, weekends and holiday hours
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
