Server Systems Engineer

As the Server Systems Engineer for the Great Falls Public School district, you'll be an integral member of the Data Center department.

You'll work both independently and with the rest of the team and staff to ensure the smooth operation and support of district technology systems. You will support various systems used district wide by all staff. Major systems will include Active Directory, VMware, backup / recovery and Storage and Server configuration and monitoring.

DUTIES

• Configure, update, and maintain the Active Directory environment for the District

• • This includes Policies, scripts, containers, groups, DNS and DHCP services

• Manage the VMWare installation of all server farms

• Manage the Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure

• Configure and maintain our Alerting systems for server and network management

• Configure and maintain all core servers - Microsoft, SQL, Linux Ubuntu

• Configure, update, and maintain Storage Area Networks

• Configure, update, and maintain backup/recovery software and hardware on Dell PowerStore server system

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Excellent understanding of Microsoft products

• Knowledge and understanding of Visual Basic scripting

• Knowledge of Network infrastructure and function

• Knowledge of Storage Area Network setup and Dell VxRail environment

• Understanding of VM Ware setup and configuration

• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities

DESIRED SKILLS

• Knowledge of Microsoft Server, Active Directory preferred

• Knowledge of Storage Area Networks, Dell VxRail, Dell PowerStore preferred

• Some background in programming

• Knowledge of linux operating systems a plus

• Windows SUS or SCCM

• Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

• Ability to communicate effectively

EMPLOYMENT: 5 days/week; 8 hours/day; 12 months/yr

LOCATION: District Offices

SALARY: $55,000 to 60,000 depending on experience
