Customer Engineers are responsible for onsite customer maintenance including both hardware and software repair activities and customer satisfaction. The Customer Engineer will use interpersonal and technical skills, both hardware and software, to identify and resolve customer problems and/or escalate to the appropriate organization. The CE will perform account management activities such as installation planning, installations, sales support, problem management, and configuration management as needed to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and promote additional sales and service.


  • Expertise with SGI hardware/software and High Performance Systems (Irix, Unix, Linux).

  • Knowledge of system interoperability with Storage, Networks, Servers, Brocade switches, SpectraLogic tape libraries, etc., and other system type attachments.

  • Expertise with Data Direct Networks, NetApp and/or Hitachi storage is a plus.

  • High level of problem isolation and identification skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.

  • "MUST" hold a current (TS/SCI) Security Clearance, current CI poly.

  • Some travel required. (Approximately 10%)

  • Expected to work after hours and weekends when necessary.

  • Required to carry a "pager" and participate with the team on-call rotation.

  • CompTIA certification per DoD 8570 directive highly desired

Education and/or Equivalent Experience (including tech. and non-tech. capabilities):

  • BS Degree in Computer Science / Engineering related field or military/professional experience with commensurate technical training.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in technical related field.

  • Background investigation and drug screen required.
