JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Five Stones Research Corporation is seeking two candidates to fulfill the essential functions of the Server Operations. Candidates must possess the competencies listed.

Essential Functions:

For Redstone Test Center (RTC):

  • Work as part of the Server Operations team that is responsible for administration of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including Microsoft Servers, ESX VMware, clustering, Storage Area Network (SAN), and SharePoint

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot servers and systems to ensure a stable and reliable server infrastructure in a dynamic, fast growing environment

  • Ensure information systems security confidentiality, integrity and availability; Information Assurance (IA) requirements compliance; and, application policies and procedures adherence

  • Responsible for support of mission-critical systems and infrastructure used for day to day operations

Competencies:

  • Proficient user of Microsofts Office 2013 suite of software and applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as SharePoint

Supervisory Responsibility

There is none, but the employee may be a coach and mentor for other employees.

Work Environment

Professional office using typical office equipment.

Physical Demands

Necessary to perform the essential functions: able to see, hear, and speak; lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds; sit for extended time; and, use a personal computer and typical peripheral devices.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, normally 40 hours per work week, Monday-Friday. Infrequently evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel

No travel is expected.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Technology, Computer Science, or other related technical field; or, equivalent work experience

  • Five years experience in server operations

  • Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program baseline certification of Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Security + Continuing Education (CE)

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Certificates of training in Microsoft, VMWare, and Linux

  • Experience performing second and third-level Windows server operations support to include Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS), and Internet Information Services (IIS), Structured Query Language (SQL)
