Job Description

Position Overview: The Bank is seeking a Senior SQL Server database engineer to perform database administration and support major commercial bank application projects from end to end. Candidate must have previous experience with financial services large size commercial bank database engineering aspects, good communication, and writing skills. Must have good team player skills, production support 24/7, Hygiene maintenance and cloud implementation experience are essential to perform the job function. Candidate must be in the New York, New Jersey are with a reasonable commuting distance. Three days a week need to work from office (Hybrid schedule) and subject to change.

Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

• 15 Years total experience in IT Industry as a SQL Server Database Administrator.

• 5 Years of experience with Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, Couchbase

• Must have experience with RDBMS products such as SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2012 versions to support and Windows Geo cluster setup implementation.

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database administration.

• Must have very strong experience with Database Performance Tuning activities and recommend application developers to optimize the database objects for the best performance.

• Must have experience with data platform tools such as Delphix to virtualize the database environment and dynamic data masking.

• Must have experience with automation of monthly critical patching, Upgrade, Cloning and Database Migrations. Weekly basis status report, building best practices documentation, publishing and time sheet submission is a key to perform the job function.

• Strong experience in replication technology such as Always on Availability Groups (AG), Always on Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) and Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate.

• Must have experience with multiple projects to server as a SME and 24X7 production database support.

• Must have experience with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. Should have strong ETL, ELT experience and optimize the batch jobs to narrow the execution of the data load.

• Must have Azure or AWS certified database administration.

• Must have strong experience with data warehouse in SQL Server and AWS - Databricks or RedShift.

• Must have experience with Cybersecurity tools such as CyberArk, Crowd Strike, Qualys scan and Firewall - tufin are mandatory.

• Must have experience with PowerShell, Python, TSQL, PL/SQL programming, System Center Operations Manager, Nice Management Pack configuration for Oracle DB instance and SolarWinds monitoring

• Must have experience with ServiceNow and auto ticketing implementation for database monitoring alerts, Hygiene best practice implementation

• Must have experience with SDLC, change control best practices, auditing, data architecture, data warehouse performance tuning, ETL - SSIS tuning for faster loads on heavy volumes of data processing

• Must have experience with Backup encryption and AWS - S3 storage gateway implementation to upload backups securely in AWS cloud.

• Must have experience with third party vendor based financial applications and collaboration with fintech experience to modernize, portfolio optimization and rationalization of the database estate.

• Must have work experience with F5 Load balance to route the sessions in HA-DR environment and advance database features such as Transparent data encryption (TDE), Policy management, Resource Governor, and Extended events.

• Must have experience with Microsoft SQL Server in Linux OS, OpenShift Docker container and AWS. Automation is essential for all aspects of enterprise database administration. Experience with data center migration from on-premise to cloud is key.

• Must have experience with HP SAN storage configuration for database environment, IO turning best practices and Disk alignment & offset implementation.

• Must have experience with cross functional team to partnership and advocate database objects such as Partition tables, Triggers, Index analysis, Stored Procedures, Views turning, User defined functions, and various data types.

• Good working experience with shell scripting and Python programming language.

• Experience with Coheisty appliance Backup and Recovery strategies.

• Nice to have experience with EMR, Glue, Amazon Quick Sight and data mesh implementation in AWS cloud.

• Nice to have experience with Oracle Data Guard implementation with Oracle 12c R2, 19c versions, export dump optimization, AWR tools usage for performance analysis, RMAN based backup implementation.

• Nice to have experience with Oracle installation, patching, problem resolution, Grid infrastructure implementation, ASM, Flashback recovery, VLDB recovery and enterprise database administration.

Qualifications

• Person must have a bachelor or master degree with computer science as a major concentration.

• AWS cloud certification is vital to perform hybrid cloud, public cloud and private data centers. Nice to have exposure with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning experience in data engineering platform.

• 10+ years in banking and financial services, with a focus on IT and operations project management, knowledge of Core Banking products and payment architecture.

• Agile based project management experience with any of the following functionality: Customer, conversions, deposits, Teller/Branch, Data Warehouse, cold storage, imaging, accounting, regulatory reporting, tax reporting, general ledger, Digital channels

• 5+ years of managing complex projects, and experience specifically with commercial Banking applications.

• Strong experience managing third party vendor relationship with Banking Vendors.

• Experience in developing reports for weekly, monthly project status meeting and periodic steering committee meetings.

• Experience with Cybersecurity implementation and infrastructure engineering.

• Knowledge of Banking solutions and applications integrated with banking solutions such as Brach/Teller, transaction processing, loan, Cash Management, data warehouse, cold storage and imaging solutions

• Broad commercial and private banking experience.

• Experience with technical project components such as system integration, data conversion/migrations, file transfer and decommissioning solutions.

Compensation:

The expected annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $170,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual's skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
