We are seeking Server Admin to join our WestMed Telecom team. This professional level Server Admin role is part of a team responsible for the deployment and management Involved in the maintenance and administration of servers, desktop computers, IP Phones and virtual environments in relation to our Telecom department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Experience with contacted center solutions (Unify) and telecom system knowledge, including ACD systems a plus

  • Installs, tests, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications Server and Network based hardware and software products

  • Support servers in a mixed operating system environment (Windows and Linux) VMware and clustering

  • In-depth knowledge of network technologies (LAN, WAN, VLAN, wireless)

  • Create and respond to helpdesk tickets submitted by end users in accordance with published IT Service Level Agreements or SLA's

  • Use excellent customer service skills to see technical problems through to resolution

  • Proactively update tickets and communicate issue status to supported end-users

  • Handle and respond to general inquiries, escalate as required

  • Develop and deploy monitoring solutions to keep our systems running smoothly while also developing new automated solutions to support current/future processes

  • Identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures while also building documentation

  • Maintain and configure infrastructure tools to monitor and manage the environment health and provide recommendations for improvement, including system tuning and hardware integration

  • Provide business- and after-hours support

  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions or other unsatisfactory occurrences and provide analysis/recommendations for resolution and prevention

  • Provide input into system design and capacity planning

  • Provide documentation and training to Tier 2 store support teams as needed

  • Participate in external vendor management issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience administering Linux and Windows servers in a production environment

  • 3 years of experience with MS Active Directory for system configuration and security policy enforcement

  • Experience with VMware

  • Experience with system hardware architecture and implementation

  • Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts and techniques

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP protocols and application

  • Experience providing remote support and troubleshooting

  • An ability to identify the root causes of issues by analyzing patterns and trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with managing systems that use SAN storage systems

  • Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize large amounts of information

  • Training in TCP/IP, Microsoft server, Clustering, Linux and general networking in relation to Telecom and SIP protocols

  • A desire to deliver to a high standard in a suitable timeframe

Responsibilities: * Use lap-top computer or other devices to receive, document and close out excavation notices, both during normal hours and after hours. * Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities. * Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities. * Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits. * Perform light excavation with a shovel, to expose buried utilities when necessary. * Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to all locates completed. * Receive and respond to excavation notices during normal and after hours in accordance with established time requirements. * Operate company vehicle in a safe manner, and maintain a professional appearance. * Be able to perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices. * Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours.
