General Description

The Sephora Merchandise/Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing all operational processes aligned to product and store environment to positively impact the client experience and drive sales and profit. The Sephora Merch/Ops Supervisor ensures that all merchandising and operational processes meet or exceed company expectations for execution, completion and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively approaches clients in a friendly manner to determine how they can help find products or demonstrate services and close the sale

  • Provide coaching to enhance team's ability to deliver memorable client experiences through building an emotional connection

  • Lead animation SETs and merchandise updates, utilizing the Weekly Calendar, Vision Guide and Core Standards Guide

  • Lead processes for managing inventory for the stores, including stock ledger updates and inventory accuracy

  • Manage internal Ops technology for Sephora; ensure technology is working properly

  • Create a learning environment, partnering with Area Education Managers and Sephora Managers to deliver training to Beauty Advisors when necessary

  • Models a strong brand identity based on the Sephora Inside JCP values and culture

  • Prior leadership in a supervisory role preferred

Incumbents supervise the work of assigned crews (typically at the level of Maintenance Technician and Equipment Operator), and perform the most advanced work of those supervised. Work may include: directing workflow and developing schedules; maintaining records; investigating and resolving citizen concerns and complaints; participating in long-range planning; making decisions about equipment, materials, and supply usage; managing inventory; and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other service providers. Incumbents supervise staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, assigning and monitoring work, and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures. As assigned, incumbents may also serve as a working supervisor/lead worker. Supervision Exercised/Received: * Exercised: This classification typically supervises other employees; * Received: This classification typically reports to a higher level supervisor or manager level; * Note: Other reporting relationships may apply. Example of Duties The City of Richmond, Department of Public Utilities – Water Distribution division seeks to fill multiple Maintenance and Operations Crew Supervisor positions for day shift (Hours 7:00 am - 3:30 pm). Duties include, but are not limited to: * Supervising and directing staff including scheduling and assigning work assignments, training, monitoring work performance, maintaining time sheets and leave records, etc.; working supervisor/lead worker by performing the most advanced work of those supervised or assisting with work as needed; * Planning, coordinating and overseeing projects, services, and procurement of human and material resources; training staff in job safety procedures and ensuring procedures are followed; transporting crew members to job sites; monitoring and providing oversight to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, safety, and compliance with standards; scheduling events and other work-related activities; * Providing customer service to general public, visitors, and internal/external clients; responding to telephonic, email, and in-person inquiries or complaints; providing other customer service support such as: assisting customers with obtaining information or access to resources and vendors; investigating and resolving complaints, etc.; performing routine administrative duties including preparing reports; * Assessing, coordinating, planning, and performing inspections/repairs such as structure/property inspections; inspecting equipment/vehicles for deterioration, damage, and malfunctions; inspecting lines and pipes, etc.; identifying critical issues and determining appropriate steps to resolve them; * Managing the daily operations, directing work flow and developing scheduling for construction-related maintenance and repair projects; * Maintaining and approving crew member's timesheets and leave records; * Maintaining work orders and records on work performed on a regular basis; * Procuring necessary materials, supplies and equipment and managing inventory for assigned work area of responsibility; * Preparing and submitting routine and special reports to supervisor; * Reading and interpreting GIS maps, blue prints and various other plans or mapping systems; * Creating as built drawings and updates to GIS mapping system, as needed; * Interfacing and communicating with service providers, contractors, vendors, citizens and the general public regarding issues involving the assigned areas of responsibility; * Investigating and resolving citizen complaints and concerns; * Maintaining required staff personnel records; * Monitoring and maintaining hazardous waste data; * Attending seminars, staff meetings, safety meetings and applicable trade shows; * Performing special projects as required by management.
