Atlassian is seeking a Technical SEO Specialist to join our fast growing SEO marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of SEO, you'll improve the organic search performance of www.atlassian.com and our other web assets, including microsites and campaign landing pages. You will work with cross-functional teams across Atlassian to deliver content that our website visitors will love.

Your technical SEO knowledge will be in high demand across the company as teams will look to you as the SEO expert to deliver optimization recommendations to improve site rankings across various areas of the business. Through your work, you'll establish positive relationships with your colleagues across Atlassian, which will help to develop your influence and multiply your impact.

Atlassian is not looking for black hat SEOs or marketers. Our approach is "user first, search engine second". We're looking for someone relatively new in the field who is eager and ready to learn.

In this role, you'll get to

  • Establish deep knowledge of technical SEO including site improvement audits competitive analysis, market research and keyword analysis.

  • Optimize pages and sites for OnPage factors to achieve optimal user experience.

  • Do keyword research, help with site migrations and perform data analysis to understand user and search engine behavior.

  • Help product managers, content creators, developers, and designers to define the right SEO strategy.

  • Create reports, audits, analyses and recommendations for user acquisition goals.

On the first day, we'll expect you to have

  • A basic understanding of search engines, HTML, web analytics and OnPage / OffPage optimization
  • 1-2 years of experience in the online marketing field
  • A strong drive to learn and a lot of curiosity

Its great, but not required, if you have

  • Experience optimizing a website before (own project or for a company) with results to show.

  • Exposure to Javascript or other programming languages besides HTML + CSS.

  • Experience in related fields to SEO, such as UX, design, web development, social media management, conversion optimization, paid advertising, email marketing.

SEO is a critical channel at Ancestry and you will play a high-profile role within the organization. Our SEO Marketing Manager assists the broader Search team to assess risk, optimize existing content and identify new SEO opportunities/capabilities across the suite of Ancestry brands. This role executes both current and new SEO tactics to drive year-over-year growth of the natural search channel as a whole. With your ability to quickly make data driven decisions, creatively think outside the box, and prioritize and drive multiple projects, you will effectively balance the technical needs of search engine bots with the functional needs of our human users. What you will do: * Responsible for managing the SEO programs to conversion-based targets and working closely with the Paid Search team to maximize overall search ROI * Manage and drive our SEO content production process to rapidly publish valuable content at scale, establishing Ancestry as a dominant presence for any search query related to family history and consumer genomics * Perform regular site audits to ensure priority site sections are crawlable, are optimized for the proper keyword focus and provide users content/functionality to match searcher intent. * Act as an SEO evangelist by effectively communicating opportunities and risks across all parts of the organization * Use web analytics platform and SEO tools to monitor, analyze and optimize website activity, traffic trends, SERP rankings and customer acquisition metrics, through monthly and ad-hoc reports. * Provide SEO support to Product Management and Engineering teams for all ongoing web projects, including new product launches, page refreshes, site re-designs, analytics tools implementation and CMS rollouts. * Work closely with international country managers and sister brands to drive SEO performance across the Ancestry portfolio of websites Who you are: * Minimum of 3+ years SEO experience, preferably managing large–scale websites (i.e. millions of monthly visitors); e-commerce/online retail business or subscription-based service company highly preferred * Strong analytical skills with track record of managing to performance targets including experience with Google Analytics, Omniture, or other web analytics suites * Experience conducting data-driven SEO site audits and familiarity with tools such as Conductor Searchlight, BrightEdge, Botify, Screaming Frog, etc. a plus * Technical mindset with a working knowledge of HTML as well as a solid understanding of copywriting best practices * A self-starter and equally collaborative team player * Solid understanding of A/B testing, website usability and conversion optimization principles * B.S/B.A. degree in marketing or a related field We're a cutting-edge tech company with a very human mission—to help every person discover, preserve, and share the story of what led to them.
