SEO Marketing Manager

Marketing Team | NYC, NY or Santa Clara, CA

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate for the role of SEO Manager. The role will also be highly visible within the organization and have the opportunity to join a company that is impacting student outcomes in a meaningful way. This position reports to the Head of SEO.


  • Develop content strategies to optimize authored content targeting key terms as well as longer tail UGC

  • Collaborate on strategy and KPIs to measure success

  • Work cross-departmentally to achieve goals and execute tasks that are aligned with overall strategy.

  • Audit existing site to identify areas of deficiency in regard to best practices

  • Perform competitive analysis to identify potential areas of growth

  • Help to create and support marketing content (e.g., videos, case studies, blog posts)

  • Monitor various SEO tools, both internal and third-party, to recommend SEO initiatives

  • Perform research (keyword, topic, etc.) to identify areas of improvement and new opportunities

  • Stay up to date on trends in SEO and internet marketing.


  • 5+ years' experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) processes

  • Experience working with popular SEO tools

  • Experience working with CMS and building/administering content in multiple CMS environments

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration

  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics & Adobe Analytics

  • High-level proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Ability to manage time, self-motivated, and deliver projects on time.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively at multiple levels within the company.

Specifically this role's core responsibilities will focus on partnering directly with the major functions of the business to drive consumer engagement and conversion across all channels, all the way through our various monetization funnels. The role is central to's long-term strategic growth and will liaise with leadership across the major functions of the business on a real-time basis including, most notably, Product and Marketing, and Sales. The role will serve as a planning and analysis partner to's Consumer business, which includes, Media, Rentals, etc. in a focused effort to facilitate and drive Growth, Engagement and Conversion for the business with special emphasis on growing and optimizing SEO acquisition and conversion. An ideal candidate will have a background driving value through analysis of a combination of finance, marketing, product, and product functions as well as expertise/understanding grounded in long-term strategic business planning and the ability to influence executives and representatives from across the organization to achieve results in a disciplined manner. Specifically the candidate should have familiarity or expertise in digital consumer/search businesses, consumer funnel optimization, and consumer analytics/segmentation across all channels. General responsibilities include decision support, business line strategy, business modeling, forecasting, analysis and performance management of's consumer internet business-lines, with specific support for our broad SEO optimization team in both Product and Technology. Responsibilities: * Develop and monitor both SEO and related KPIs to drive high-level oversight of business initiatives and company health, and develop regular insights from the data to enable performance management and facilitate accountability. * Participate in the development of business plans and metrics for strategic product initiatives and business lines, and partner directly with cross-functional teams to facilitate achievement of short and long-term goals, especially as it relates to SEO efforts. * Deliver high-quality data-driven business analyses that address business issues with effective solutions, and provide key insights leading to actionable recommendations. * Partner with the Product organization on data-driven decision making, idea generation, and rigorous measurement. * Lead exploratory analysis to identify and size product development opportunities to determine tradeoffs between product features that grow and optimize the product offering. * Develop product learning agendas, design multivariate tests, and synthesize analytical results into practical recommendations that inform key business decisions. * Partner with the engineering and business intelligence teams to drive improvements to tracking and data quality. * Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand product performance, conduct complex initiatives that address key strategic questions and drives assorted ad hoc projects. * Own all behavioral analysis insights and deep dives and lead all efforts for consumer segmentation and analysis. Experience and Skills: * Educational Requirements: BA with undergraduate focus in Finance,Statistics, Applied Math, Analytics, Economics or related field.
