Job Description
As Manager of SEO Strategy, you provide strategic oversight to the SEO team. You leverage industry knowledge to lead innovation, to develop team members, and to build rapport with Go Local's clientele. You thrive in a cross-functional team environment and understand how your decisions impact your partners, team members, and Go Local.
You manage the growth and revenue goals of the department, as well as the contractor team GLI uses for overflow work. You are passionate about leading and building effective teams, providing value to both client partners and team members alike. You keep the SEO team running smoothly, keeping team members' account loads balanced, assigning new clientele to team members, and coordinating with strategic product team members to meet deadlines.
Job Expectations
Manage and oversee the SEO Department's product lifecycle, ranging from education, ideation, introduction, on-boarding, daily management, New Business support, reporting, optimization, and communication for Go Local's clientele
Accountable for the success of the SEO team
Identify strengths in team members and place them in positions to gain experiences and thrive
Retain team members and mentor them in their careers
Responsible for management, mentorship, training, development, and team building
Provide strategic oversight to the development of near- and long-term partner strategies and assist team members where needed
Build relationships with current and prospective SEO clientele and occasionally travel to meet with them face-to-face
Identify and implement organic search innovation tactics and best practices
Properly position SEO programs with GLI's partners and GLI team members
Support the New Business and Strategy Departments with sales, organic growth, and partner retention
Manage the SEO Department's growth and revenue
Accountable to understanding agency financial management practices and responsible for department Profit and Loss and Budgeting
Present industry knowledge internally and externally at applicable conferences, events, or webinars
Conduct ongoing professional research and education, staying up-to-date on industry trends
Qualifications

Must demonstrate an advanced understanding of SEO
Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines
Must demonstrate the ability to lead, train, and hold team members accountable
Must demonstrate a proven track record of internal and external relationship building and creating long-lasting rapport with partners
Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate strong presentation skills
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information between internal product teams and external partners
Must demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking when solving problems and interpreting data
Must demonstrate a strong understanding of Google Analytics, Content Marketing, Local Listings, User Experience, and Accessibility
Must demonstrate a basic understanding of Paid Search and Website Development
Must demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or the Google Business Suite equivalents
Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, or another related field, or equivalent experience
4+ years of SEO Marketing experience
1+ years of management experience
2+ years of Google Analytics experience (Certification required)
3+ years of customer service/consulting experience
