Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the SEO Content Manager will lead both strategy and day-to-day editorial execution for all content development.

What you will do:

  • Develop & own content marketing and editorial calendar
  • Create highly engaging, dynamic content for multiple channel outputs.
  • Edit, proofread and maintain consistent brand voice across all marketing & materials
  • Manage a team of contributing writers
  • Conduct keyword research using tools such as Moz, SEMRush, Ahrefs, etc.., develop a targeted keyword strategy in order to compete for and capture high-intent traffic within weaker SERPs effectively.
  • Align content strategy with business strategy and e-commerce initiatives, look for ways to increase revenue and capture greater sales leads.
  • Regularly monitor SEO/content specific success metrics, and analyze results leveraging third-party tools and internal data sources

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of digital writing and content strategy experience is preferred
  • Exceptional writing, copywriting, and editorial skills
  • Deep understanding of best SEO practices and use of Google Trends and insights
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor communication style based on audience
  • An interest in eCommerce trends and creating shopping content

In this role you will own content strategy, development, distribution with an eye towards organic traffic, rankings and conversion of site visitors through content engagement.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>These cover both content marketing and SEO. Build and manage a 90-day content calendar for articles and other channels that include brand launches, e-com campaigns and industry trends to understand content opportunities across the organization.</li> <li>Assign blog posts to writers</li> <li>Identify gaps in our content and recommend new topics</li> <li>Proofread and edit written pieces before publication</li> <li>Conduct keyword and SEO research to understand customers’ needs</li> <li>Monitor web traffic and engagement (e.g. conversions and bounce rates)</li> <li>Follow industry-related news and generate ideas around trending topics. </li> <li>Accelerate growth of organic search traffic through regular audits of the sites’ content, tech functionalities and competitors.</li> <li>Review and update published content as needed</li> </ul><p><em>SEO</em></p><ul> <li>Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing</li> <li>Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization on both web SEO and YouTube SEO</li> <li>Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations</li> <li>Develop and implement link building strategy</li> <li>Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code</li> <li>Work with copywriters to drive SEO in content creation and content programming</li> <li>Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Degree in English, Journalism, Communications preferred</li> <li>3-5 years of experience in content creation, content marketing, or related; have managed an editorial calendar </li> <li>Proven SEO experience</li> <li>Strong reporting/writing/editing skills</li> <li>SEO versed - strong understanding of SEO, necessary content categorization and structure</li> <li>Basic understanding of CMS tools (e.g. Wordpress), Google Analytics, SEMRush/Ahrefs and other analytics tools</li> <li>Data-driven - experienced at designing measurement practices, reporting on content marketing performance, and using performance metrics to optimize strategies</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><ul> <li>Have a data-driven editor’s brain and are obsessed with content to drive performance</li> <li>A cross-channel storyteller: able to tell stories using words, images, or audio.
