The AWS Training and Certification is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced Senior Writer to work closely with our leadership team in writing strategic proposals for new business opportunities and initiatives, operational business plans, executive updates, and other strategic writing projects. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders in AWS Training and Certification and other cross-functional partners to gather information, synthesize business and technical concepts, and write original content that resonates with the intended audience while maintaining the highest quality standards, complete fidelity to accuracy, and proper handling of sensitive or confidential data.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer and editor who exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical skills. This individual must be a critical thinker who can formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create well-structured narratives to express it. He/she will also be highly data-driven in their approach to writing, with experience leading research initiatives to gather the data necessary to influence decisions at a senior level. This role involves frequent engagement with AWS leadership and requires a candidate with executive presence and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Collaborate with leaders across AWS Training and Certification to learn about new business strategies or initiatives, and assimilate inputs to craft a compelling story.
Work with internal subject matter experts to gather information, synthesize business and technical concepts, and write original content that drives decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
Manage the narrative development lifecycle including kickoff and checkpoint meetings with stakeholders, narrative reviews, production timelines, and quality assurance.
Drive research and data gathering initiatives to support your narratives with both qualitative and quantitative data from internal and external sources.
Proactively identify opportunities to streamline the narrative writing process and design solutions to improve business processes.
Propose and promote writing standards, and actively participate in creating mechanisms to scale writing best practices across the organization.
