ASRC Federal Data Networks Technologies has an immediate position for a Senior System Administrator/Application Engineer to join our production support team that supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in McLean, VA.
Manages the external connections, both to and from to include:
Network change requests
Manages the application-level security for interfaces to and from the application; certificate management and SFTP user accounts
Some external connections require manual generation and delivery of extracts; the extract of data and delivery are handled by production support team
Manages end-user application account changes/approvals
Data owners for the TMDS/MSAT applications have a policy regarding getting accounts and elevation of permissions within the application
Monitors the health of the servers in the production and staging environments; (20+ servers needing continuous monitoring for accessibility, message flow, etc.
Master Cluster Management Server (MCMS) support by providing technical oversight including maintenance, monitoring, periodic updates, troubleshooting, training of staff, documentation an overall support
Provides Infrastructure Support
Works with IA team to resolve security related configurations that impact operations or performance of the TMDS/MSAT applications and/or workstations
Supports managing the maintenance of TMDS/MSAT servers and workstations assigned to the TMDS/MSAT team
Responds to and reports potential security breaches detected within our part of the network and/or application

Join our TMDS program - The Theater Medical Data Store (TMDS) provides web-based access to service member information collected at theater based medical treatment facilities using applications such as MSAT (Medical Situational Awareness in the Theater) - a web-based application through SIPRnet which combines information from multiple databases to provide Worldwide Asset Visibility and Decision support to COCOM and Joint Task Force (JTF) Commander's medical staff.
If you are a Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Administrator or Application Engineer we have a role that will utilize your talents and provide you with a "deep dive" into a variety of technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
Expertise with Windows Server administration
Strong understanding of networking and network architecture; able to help design, document and implement improvements to the infrastructure the applications rely upon
Knowledge of general networking concepts to perform/assist network configuration and maintenance; understanding of concepts behind firewall capabilities
Familiarity with X.509 certificates as they are used by the application servers, including generation of certificate signing requests, multi-san certificates and management of private certificates for the servers
Experience working with Oracle database servers and relational database models to understand the application's data structure
Ability to automate tasks through the use of batch files and/or Powershell scripts
Seven (7) years in a production support role/environment
Active Secret clearance; US Citizenship required in order to obtain the clearance
Security+ certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of being hired to satisfy the IAT Level II requirement
Experience with low level network tools like WireShark is a plus; DoD Healthcare systems is a plus
