Hastings Mutual is currently looking for a Senior Web Developer. The individual in this role will provide effective and efficient .NET programming skills to support the day-to-day operations of the company's Internet/intranet strategy, as well as taking the lead role in analyzing, designing, programming, documenting, testing, and implementing solutions for complex business problems. Also, this individual will be involved in server application development, integration development, component development, and database connectivity.

Reporting to the Director, Application Development, this role will be based at our Alpharetta, Georgia Information Technology center. Remote work will be considered for employees in either the Atlanta or Grand Rapids, Michigan metropolitan areas.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides experienced level technical and advisory leadership on Hastings Mutual's IT projects, under the direction of the Director, Application Development.

  • Ensures development team delivers code that adheres to requirements and defined standards.

  • Holds accountability for the delivery of work by a small team of onsite/offshore developers.

  • Assists the business unit in defining requirements for services.

  • Designs, documents, and recommends .NET, and C# based programming solutions.

  • Establishes schedules for analysis, programming, and project completion/implementation.

  • Programs, tests, debugs, and documents approved solution using .NET programming.

  • Prepares comprehensive test plans to ensure program performance and efficiency.

  • Coordinates user functional testing with appropriate individuals.

  • Prepares written documentation to guide the deployment of the approved solution throughout the software development cycle.

  • Coordinates implementation of approved solutions with appropriate individuals and reports progress to necessary stakeholders.

  • Proposes innovative and creative solutions to improve business unit productivity, and business results.

  • Provides project leadership and management. May involve directing other web developers or web programmers assigned to work on the project.

  • Provides on-call support as necessary.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.

  • Prior experience in the architecture and design of web-based programming solutions involving .NET and C# required.

  • Experience developing applications within the Sitefinity Content Management System strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability in coordinating activities, analytical reasoning, logical problem solving, strong attention to detail, and establishing priorities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently on assignments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of .NET programming or related object-oriented programming, database concepts, and client/server concepts.

  • Working l knowledge of .NET tools and related utilities.

  • Certificate in General Insurance (IIA), Associate Designations, or demonstrated insurance experience helpful.

The primary role of this individual will be to design and develop ETL solutions utilizing best practices that support cost‐effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. * Design and develop ETL solutions in a data warehousing environment using SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and T-SQL * Analyze data requirements, complex source data, and the data model, and determine the best methods in extracting, transforming and loading the data into the data staging, warehouse and other system integration projects. * Test and validate SSIS/SSRS code, reports and packages. * Troubleshoot ETL code failures and provide fixes. * Develop documentation in a clear, concise manner which includes documenting ETL processes and work flows. * Participate in design and technology reviews.
