Senior Web Designer

Position Purpose:

The Senior Web Designer is responsible for creating bold, innovative digital designs for a vast array of housewares brands, and works directly with the design, copy, and ecommerce teams to develop content (A+ pages, infographics, brand store pages) for Amazon.com and other online retailers.

The ideal candidate has experience spearheading successful ecommerce projects and a deep understanding of the crucial design elements that really make products pop among their competitors. Additionally, the Senior Web Designer has experience managing and mentoring junior staff, the ability to multitask, exceptional attention to detail, a keen sense of organization, and dedication to meeting and exceeding continuous deadlines. The position is currently hybrid, with 2 days onsite in Garden City, NY, subject to change to additional days onsite.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create exciting, attention-grabbing assets for ecommerce pages and other online presentations

• Proficiency in creating seamless responsive ecommerce presentations that easily translate from desktop to tablet to mobile platforms

• Ensure designs follow brand style guidelines, with the agility to switch vision to conform to the unique and individual spirit of multiple housewares brands

• Collaborate continuously with category managers, the ecommerce team, copywriters, and proofreaders

• Produce several versions of designs for review for a number of teams, with the grace to handle criticism from various levels of reviewers constructively and productively

• Churn out assets quickly, efficiently, and accurately

• Keep assets accessible and easily shareable in properly labeled and organized folders on shared servers

• Train and manage a team of junior staff members

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in digital design, ideally with a focus on ecommerce

• Outstanding portfolio showcasing ecommerce assets and other digital design examples

• Deep understanding of design principles and current design trends and technologies

• Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude

• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, plus proficiency in InDesign, Google Suite

Education: BA in Graphic Design and Media Arts

Salary range $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per annum
