WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Water Resource Engineer for our Boston, MA office. As a key member of our organization you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of complicated project with established expertise locally and expertise from across the country that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Utilizing your expertise to enhance our technical skillset in the Northeast.

  • Support our Project Managers and Project Teams with planning and designing a wide variety of multi-discipline projects for our municipality, agency, institutional and private devolvement clients.

  • Conduct preliminary engineering via investigations, analyzing data, calculations, and/or evaluation of concepts that result in the best solutions for projects.

  • Prepare complete, accurate, and concise technical reports and documentation summarizing analysis and project requirements, including how design approach addresses project requirements, using electronic systems and software.

  • Performing hydrology and hydraulic calculations/modeling and determine design requirements for stormwater and water infrastructure.

Prepare design drawings and specifications documents in coordination with other project disciplines internally or externally.

  • Prepare application and supporting documents in support of local, state and federal permitting requirements.

  • Actively participate in professional civic engagement organizations.

  • Mentor our early career professionals, co-ops and interns.

  • Utilize AutoCAD to prepare contract drawings through a solid understanding of Civil 3D design.

  • Utilize AutoCAD and GIS tools in support of H&H analyses through a basic understanding of hydraulic modeling.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Support indicatives by taking on additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources or closely related field.

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in an engineering office with a focus on the civil engineering or water resources.

  • Professional Engineering License or on track to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD production and civil design software (Civil 3D) and GIS software and applications.

  • Ability to learn new modeling software and techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and comply with company policies.

  • Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools.

  • Ability to work independently with some supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

  • Ability to travel to project sites within the Northeast to support business needs.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sustainable professional certifications (Envision or LEED)

  • Advanced experience in Civil 3D pipe network and/or pressure network is a plus.

  • H&H Modelling; (HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.)

  • Trenchless technology applications.

  • Master's Degree in the above referenced disciplines.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $69,600 - $157,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
